Can I join the club?

I've decided to put my elise up for sale (going to Dietschwerks next week for some last things before I put it on the market) and thinking of getting a Noble. I can afford an M400 (Randy's looks like a solid car), but think I'll most likely end up with an M12 3R and save some bucks since I'm paying in cash. This will be my first powerful car and I'm not sure I "need" the extra power of an M400 anyways ("valet mode" sounds inticing though). Anyways, I joined nobleforums and have been doing a lot of searches and research. Just thought I'd post in here another Lotus owner going down the Noble path

Can I ask why? If it's lack of grunt, it would be a lot cheaper to go FI on the Elise...

It's not lack of grunt Just time for something new. I was never a huge modder and don't like the idea of going FI on the elise (I'd get an exige S before anything). The elise will be missed for many reasons, and has things the noble doesn't (targa/open top, lighter, etc), but I've had it 3+ years and its time for me to move on I'm staying British and lightweight, so I think I'll still love it.

It's really hard to find a bad review on them, they seem like such an amazing car, I can't wait...

Plus, it's safer, it has a full cage and harnesses. Thats my real justification, of course!

More expensive. Less performance. Arguably more maintenance costs. 10 year old car versus 3-5. Paying for the brand. They are great cars but ultimately $$ is the driving factor, need about $75-80K for well maintained, 1999-2000 360.

Don't worry, I'll still be around

Oh and one reason I made this thread (and forgot to ask in my original post) was to ask ex-elise owners how the ground clearance is to thier old elise? My driveway isn't tooo bad, but how is it? I always thought the elise was not bad at all because of the short overhang from the front wheels.

I'm running stock LSS suspension and am curious how the stock M12/M400 compares (without the front splitter). Is it 4.5 inches off the ground or so? Anyone have a measurement from center of front wheels to tip of nose by chance? Thanks!

I dont know for sure because i havent picked mine up yet. but from what ive heard the Noble/rossion is a fair amount worse on ground clearance over elise.

Thanks for the welcome - I wonder if the Rossion and Noble have the same clearance, I guess Mr Chase may be able to answer that . Can't wait to see pictures of your white Q1

Rossion has a little higher clearance in the front as there is no splitter.

I just sold my Noble and bought a Rossion. These cars are unbelievable especially when you consider nothing else can run with them that doesn't cost 3 to 4 times as much.
