Viper Encounters the Predator

Well Thought I'd share Predator's first prey after my 1000 break-in....

You'll note under the "S FL Gathering" thread the pic of the black Viper Coupe with silver stripes sitting next to my Q1. After a hearty meal at the Cracker Barrel and plenty of "Wows!" from onlookers, we started off heading North on the Sawgrass Expressway (For those unfamiliar, it's a very rural 8 lane highway on the West side of S FL). The silver Gallardo was in the lead and I was the tail-man.

As we drove, speeds increased from an average of 80 mph to around 100. I will tell you that when I told Sean, my passenger and near-future Rossion Q1 Owner, that we were doing 100, he was in disbelief. You will be amazed at how well this car rides at 100... just so damn smooth, that it feels like 70. I started making my way up, doing some safe but quick lane change maneuvers, till I was all the way in the right lane gunning for the leader. At this point, the "show-off" (and overconfident ) silver Gallardo was about 1/4 miles ahead as to ensure no one could quickly catch up to without giving him the change to break and stay ahead. The Viper was on my tail close enough where he could reach and adjust my rear view mirror for me. He had a wide grin on his face as everytime I'd make a quick accelleration forward, he'd respond accordingly and be right on my tail again.

Well, opportunity called! the lane opened up and it was time to see what the this Rossion was all about... I was in 5th at about 4500-5000 rpm, and GUNNED IT!! There was no mistaking the Viper's WOT not a second after I launched... This pretty well sums up what happened next...



I wasn't really paying too much attention to the gauge cluster for those few seconds, but we were around 6000-6500 rpm and 130-140 mph, more or less. The Viper was starting to near after a few seconds, but no way man, he was dust!

The real surprise came to the lead driver of the Silver Gallardo who thought he had it covered on the long turn-off ramp to the connecting I-595... yet another misconception on his part, as within seconds of almost flooring it, I was now on his tail and laughing with Sean as was casually took the ramp with ease and just stayed there! That G's driver did have a bit of a driver's ego (and we were enroute to Rossion), so I didn't get into a passing pissing contest... but point proven!

Hence, by the time we arrived at Rossion, there was already a bit of intrigue and respect before even walking in.

I was no longer asked how the car was, but more along the lines of why the Rossion over the Superleggera... which is a compliment within the Lambo group. The Gallardo SL was my other pick due to not only it's amazing performance and design, but they are currently going for some amazing prices at around $125-135K.

It's not so much about how much HP, but how you use (and drive) the HP you have... not to mention timing. In the end, everyone had a good time, but Predator FINALLY got to stretch it's legs and make some waves..... and to think he's only an infant...
