I don't blame you for asking. I just rented a U-Haul trailer for a trip to San Jose. My choices were 55 dollars a day or about 500 dollars one-way (900 miles). I am not sure where U-Haul is coming up with their figures. It costs less per day to rent a truck (with an engine, transmission, interior, etc), than renting a trailer. If I made that trip four times, I could get a decent used trailer for the price.
