As a Florida Elise owner the Auto Train is very tempting. Does anyone here have any experience with the Auto Train and specifically would you load an Elise onto it?

1. Parents took it yrs ago. some kind of train problem caused a bit of damage to their car!!

2. Every yr, I drive to FL and back to see them. Drive home is straight thru, stopping only for fuel. 18-19 hrs or so, no problem at all.

Secrets:

a. No Doz
b. My bladder and gas gauge are synchronized

So, you could simply drive.

LOG 30 meeting @ McGovern's Picnic

Later this month there will be a LOG 30 committee meeting at McGovern's picnic. If anyone will be attending the picnic and is interested learning about putting on the most spectacular Lotus event in the Western hemisphere this is a golden opportunity.

Putting on a LOG is a lot of work but it is fun and very rewarding. All it takes to be a volunteer is a little bit (or large amount) of time and willingness to make a commitment to help out your fellow Lotus enthusiasts.

Its not too early start planning for next year's LOG. In fact it is a wonderful time to start your planning. Watch this year's fall schedule of events for ideas. October in and around Gettysburg: apple festivals, leaf peeping, farm festivals...

Gettysburg Convention and Visitors Bureau

The National Apple Harvest Festival

Don't forget Frank Lloyd Wright's "Falling Water" house.

Fallingwater - house over waterfall, Frank Lloyd Wright

On PA 381, between Mill Run and Ohiopyle.

How far is that from our venue?

I'd be interested in getting together a group to make a run to Fallingwater. Advanced reservations are required and they are closed on Wednesdays. Here's their site: Fallingwater | Home

I am certain you will like it much better than the Oak Park home that you toured, Rich.

You Could Look this Good

You could look this good if you volunteer to help at LOG 30. Yes two of the many, but we can always user more, volunteers helping out with LOG 30.

Only 13 months to go.

From the Chair

Yes LOG 30, or if you prefer LOG XXX, is just about a year away. There are many great locations to visit around the area. The main events going on in the area are Fall Hershey and the Apple Harvest Festival.

Fall Hershey is a national event if not international. Looking for a car part, it might be there. It will take three days to see the whole thing. Yes there are sometimes Lotus parts, you have to look for them.

http://www.hersheyaaca.org/documents...T09OVERALL.pdf

The weekend before LOG is Fall Carlisle. Just a smaller version of Hershey.

Gettysburg is located in Adams County. Adams County has hosted the National Apple Harvest Festival for over 40 years. The event lasts two weeks and we will have LOG the second weekend of the festival.

More info to come.

Chris
