Sleepless, you sure have a lot of patience. Why not send a truck and pick they baby up?

Pop in a stock motor and have some fun driving it.

Your missing out big time. ( not trying to make you feel bad / worse)

True, I have several track-worthy cars; each is fun in different ways (even the Mustang(s) ). While the Elise is my favorite track car, I REALLY want it to have this upgraded N/A motor to take it to the next level of fun. Yeah, I wish it was done a year ago. Yeah, there have been times when I REALLY missed it. But, like many things, I do believe the wait will be worth it; it will be a very unique driving experience...

did you ever consider doing the k24 swap ? we have had quite a few of them on the dyno making 280whp N/A on 93 octane...if i could pick up a lotus that would be the route i'd take.

That would have been my first choice. However, I still have not seen any evidence that one can get a reliable and complete conversion done in the US.

well maybe it cant be done so that it would pass all emissions in certain states but i am 100% sure a relaible swap can be done here, you'd just need to piggy back the stock ecu or go with a full stand alone w/the new set of gauges on the dash. If it was a track car like yours sounds like it would be then the person wouldnt need to worry about emissions etc.

None of the above - the KPro will run the stock gauges. While not smog legal, it will pass sniffer tests and OBDII scans, so it depends on the technician doing to visual test.

well i didnt know the KPRO could run the gauges, which is great...but it would not pass an obd2 scan when it checks the ecu and see's "honda k20" instead of "toyota 2zz"

Updates:

1) LittleRocket and Boosted2.0 got on the dyno with new intake manifold. The excellent results can be found here: Just finished testing new Intake manifold with great results

2) LittleRocket hopes to have my engine assembled in a couple of weeks.

Yeah, I've been following this thread so long that I went from a 05 Elise, to a 08 Exige S240. I certainly hope that you have over 300rwhp after this is done. At least over 250NA rwhp. You deserve it with the amount of time that has passed

kortik -

Yes, I will have the DD intake, custom runners for my 9500RPM redline.

LittleRocket, one of the Daves in "DD", will be doing the tuning.

ChaserWilliams -

I've been through custom engines before... Twin Turbo VR6 and AWD conversion in a New Beetle took 9 months even though it was not the first (this 2ZZ will be a first and probably the most powerful N/A 2ZZ on the planet, for now ... ). I blew the motor in my 97 Porsche Turbo in Oct 2007 and am having yet another custom engine built for it; it's been gone for a year and a half.

You gotta pay (and wait) to play the custom engine game...
