Anyway, good luck on your swap and if you need any help header-wise or with any other K20 parts, let me know. |

Is that an NA K20 he is building for you? I'd be interested in the details of the build including estimated cost and time. As the miles stack up on my Elise, I'm starting to consider engine replacement options. I like the idea of a built NA K20.

BTW: Never heard anyone refer to a 2zz as "asian plaything", but to each his own . Why are you taking it to the airport??? |

http://www.rsx-tuners.com/products.p...=2-3_liter_kit or a supercharged motor with around 400HP at the crank. The N/A motor is good for around 300HP at the wheels, so it's not like it would be slow or anything. I'm not sure what the cost is, since I'm doing some engineering work for him in exchange, but you can contact John at (949) 581-2181. RSX Tuners is part of Hi-Tech Exhaust. I was there yesterday and they must have had at least 4 or 5 K20s in the shop and they just finished an exhaust (header to tip) for an MR2 with a K20. If you talk to him, tell him I told you to call and ask for some pics of that exhaust. -Steve |

Aerosim, any pictures of your dry sup setup? My dry sump should be here soon and shortly after will be installed but I would like to know how yours turned out.

Deep into the waiting game but have finalized a location for the supercharger and how I can make it work with the intake and the discharge port. The engine location looks good and the air conditioning is intact. The intake manifold is extremely difficult to build because of the space constraints and very little substantial mounting locations to support the heavy supercharger. This means the intake manifold needs to support some of the weight of the supercharger along with other supports. I am waiting on a nose drive and now have not been able to find a 5" seven rib pulley for the autorotor supercharger.

Nice. Glad it turned up. I asked my friend for some pics of his dry sump, but he hasn't gotten the first ones done yet. Doh ... thought it was further along.
Anyway, keep the pics coming. -Steve |

Wow, very trick looking. How does the oil actually get into the pickup? Is there a hole on the bottom of those tubes, or do those come out?

The dry sump scavenges through cutouts in the pickup tubes, the setup is pretty cool. I need to get more hoses, a tank and locate where the oil filter will mount. I bought a scale that should be arriving this week to weigh the 2zz and the k20. I am hoping to shave some weight rather than gain but have no idea at this point what either engine weighs. Being that the supercharger weighs almost 30 lbs it is going to be a real challenge. The clutch should be arriving this week and hopefully the nose drive for the supercharger also.

I've been biting my tongue but just have to go ahead and say it...
You should have ordered two: one for the car, the other to hang on the wall! Looks like a choice bit of kit! ![]()

My fancy scale
Today the scale arrived and being that it is 100 degrees in the garage I did not get much done.....but I did manage to weigh the 2zz complete with the trans-axle and it tipped the scale at 386 lbs. I did the same with the Honda but being that it is not completely assembled it was lighter than the Toyota at 362 lbs with my 30 lb supercharger. My best guess is that the stock motor is about 20 lbs less than the Toyota. I think when I am through with everything I should be around the same weight as it was stock, but plan to re-weigh the Honda when it is completely done. I took a picture but the flash made reading the scale unreadable.
