bump this up for some dyno charts and actual #'s on the stage 2 cams
how much more power can you get out of them through custom tune (as compared to no ECU tweaking)?

They're more for the midrange than for the top end, along with being better suited for the street and the stock valvetrain. A guy named bt216 over at newcelica.org is pushing 500+ whp out of his GT30 series turbo'd GTS, and uses these cams on his built and stroked block. His increased midrange over Smaay's and MWR previous GT30 setup can primarily be attributed to these cams, along with the fact that he's running the 1.94 stroker kit.
Another nc.org member has them in his rebuilt 2zz, and the few races he has been in with Hondas suggests that it's a definate improvement over stock NA limits as well. All in all, it's great for the street. My Blitz supercharged GTS buddy here in NY has them in his built 2zz, and he says his car was faster than the stock EVO IX he just sold. If you want more power out of the top end, go with the stage 3's, but be wary of getting the car to idle right. There are two 2zz NA builds going on with high compression pistons and these stage 3 cams, and they have yet to be fully dialed in with them. One has their idle set to 1,100 rpm I believe. Of course I could post the links to all of this cam stuff celica owners are investing in for the sake of showing all the details, but I'm just going to refrain from now on.

hey guys, im adosdrummer over on newceli. i have th stg 2 cams.. and i love em. like gt-sRasta said the midrange is where these cams really came in. yes there is a lil top end difference. at the time i got the cams i didnt plan on getting MWR valves and springs, and i was doing alot of more auto-x. the cams gave me exactly what i was looking for in the mid range. alot easyer to pull out of those corners where u fall out of lift and u get back into lift faster and u have better response. now i want more top end now that i got a built ported polished head from LR so i will prob be looking into some stg 3's in the future. im on the stock ecu and i have had no problems and idle is good. sounds more throaty between 3-6k. pretty much the best $900 iv spent on this car. u guys with the elise, i know some u guys dont want to touch the car becuase its "perfect". what i beleive would be some good mods for the elise is piper stg2's, ported TB and IM, clutch and flywheel. would make your already quick light car even better. just my 2cent. happy modding!

![]() I've got stage 3 cams, still on stock ecu. My car has issues with running 'right' due to my intake and maf not getting along, but on a good day, when they seem to click, the car runs like an absolute dream. Silky smooth acceleration and in gears 1 and 2, any light feather of the throttle at anything above 2.5k rpm will result in a satisfying pull forward and send me into my seat. Lift on the other hand is a surge. 1st gear doesn't even feel like lift kicks in, it just swings to redline so quickly. 2nd gear is equally impressive, although of course not as quick and so on for the rest of the gears. I can only imagine that on a lightweight lotus the car would notice the gains much, much more prominently ![]()

If it's causing detriment to top end power, then IMO, it doesn't suit the 2zz very well!
...And if you plan to use the car only in the mid RPM range, then IMO, you bought the wrong car!!!!
