All lines are being soldered as well

Definitely agree with the group, the extra $300.00 would be well spent.

I bid $350.
Stop bidding up the price!

$300 is reasonable. We had Honda OBD-I to OBD-II harness connectors done for $75. I also swear that I'm partially colorblind - at least my wife thinks so...

Almost finished. Currently the E-manage is being mounted as well as the Aquamist. Auto Europe is doing an excellent job and is making sure the install is a home run. The Lotus mechanic, Charles, is top notch and can tear an Elise apart and put it back together in his sleep. Special thanks to Don Reed as well. Don is overlooking the installation and making sure my baby is taken care of. As mentioned in other posts, Auto Europe is a top notch outfit. If you ever need work done on your Lotus or other European import, this is the place to take your car.

We should have it ready to go in a few days. I'll post more pictures once the install is officially completed. Again, I can't say enough about the care Auto Europe has taken with my car and the install. Jay, rest assured you have one excellent authorized dealer in the mid west.

I've been talking with them throughout the process as well and yes, I am very impressed to date.

Thanks for all the updates.

So we fired it up and she ran, with a misfire. A/E is looking at a possible bad plug or having to tweak the E-manage. Also, can you beleive that my Morosso oil pan leaks! There is a small crack in the weld near the oil drain. I need a new pan I should have the new pan installed tomorrow.

I'll be heading to Florida for 9 days so the car won't be home until I get back, ugh!

The install looks very good. It will be home soon just in time for April.

I am taking my car to AE on March 24th to get new tires put on. Hopefully your car will be there and I can get a look at it. I agree that AE is a top-notch outfit.

MichiganVW.org is hosting a track day at Gingerman April 9th. Only $125 for people that aren't regular members. Let me know if you want more info.

I am curious about the cost. I did my first install for a flat $1000 and I will never do that again! These cars want to be custom-tuned, and that is a significant effort in and of itself. Plus, I had to remove the clam on my car for another issue, and R&R of the clam is not so easy, IMO - could probably be done in 2 hours, took me nearer 4. Plus, you have to "unbond" the weatherstrip from the clam, and I do worry about the integrity of the seal when I re-glue it when the clam goes back on. I have to bet they have 30 + hours in this car. I know I do, although I can do it faster next time.

So do tell what the charge is, thanks.

Paul, it will be there most likely. Talk to Don and he'll show you the car. Probably won't be able to do Gingerman on the 9th.

Can't talk about cost. This is a learning curve for A/E. The next install they do will be much faster since they can apply the lessons they learned on my car. This is at my cost as far as getting my car back but I knew that going into it and it was part of the deal.

Looks like the 1 week has grown into at least 7 weeks. And it seems like every install that has been followed on this board has taken forever. I guess this is the price for being cutting edge, but man I would go crazy with all those delays.

I'll patiently wait till the fall. Lots of time for everyone to work out the major bugs over the summer and give Jay tons of practice honing his art. Oh, and it will take me that long to soften up the wife. But I am definately going to get one.

Brad, thanks for all the updates. No aquamist gauge? I thought that might be one to throw in the cluster.

Can you elaborate on the quirks?

I was optimistic with 1 week turn around and after talking to A/E after the first week we agreed to take our time and not rush anything. It's winter in Michigan and I wouldn't be driving my car anyway. They are doing an excellent job.

The nice thing about using a Lotus dealer is they have access to all things Lotus i.e., Lotus fault computer etc. My car has been hooked up and did not throw any faults. We are comparing the data from the car with the E-manage data to see why the car has a slight misfire. This is probably a simple tweak to the E-manage. We can't complete this though because my second Morosso oil pan is a piece of S**t! This one also leaks and is warped of all things. WTF!! A/E has a call into Morosso to find out WTF is going on with their product.

I decided to have a 2 stage boost controller installed directly under the "start engine" button.

I may add an Aquamist gauge as well, we'll see.

I am confident that the misfire will be worked out with my car and I look forward to driving it when I get back from Florida, weather permitting. The major hold up now is a $500.00 oil pan. Morosso - please help!!!!

The first pan leaked at the weld near the drain plug. I have not seen the second pan but A/E is saying that it is not sealing properly and appears to be warped when compared to the opposite side of the pan. They placed a stright edge on the pan and it will not lay flat on the surface that it is leaking from.

Morosso said they would replace the pan but not until A/E sends them the defective pan. By the time Morosso receives A/E's return and sends them a new one, another week will pass

What kind of sealant are you using?
