I've started. I will take the clam off tomorrow. My rear window has been broken for 8 months so now is a good time to replace it. Everything has gone smoothly so far. The disconnect lock on the ECU pulls out a lot farther than I thought. Over an inch before I could pull it out. Hopefully tomorrow will go well. The posts have been a big help and have been very encouraging. Thanks a lot.

according to DRS, my SC is already installed, and it was supposed to be done today. but there is something wrong with the reflash from PES, so he sent back today and it'll be done on tuesday.

Are you guys installing by taking the clam off...or have some done with the clam on.

Would be interested in feedback on the challenges with keeping the clam on.

Thanks.

Jeff,

The answer to your questions (and many others) regarding the install can be found here.....

I wasn't part of the group buy (couldn't wait and bought earlier) but I've had the kit on for a while and have done three track days, one in Spokane Raceway Park and two at Pacific RAceways in Seattle. Unfortunately, at the first track day, the alternator wire came apart at the connector and my alt light came on and in short order, my battery was completely dead and the car would not run (did not learn of actual problem til after car was towed to Cantrell Motorsports) My first full day was a month or so ago in Spokane. Car performed beautifully, absolutely no problem with temps, smooth delivery of power, etc. Unfortunately, on my way back home, the alternator bracket broke, and the car needed to get towed back to Cantrell. Once apart, it was clear what had happened. The welds on the alternator bracket were not properly done. Fred was very responsive, immediately acknowledged the problem after seeing the photos and stepped up to the plate getting a new bracket which as soon as we got it allowed us to see that the old one was simply a defective one (vs being improperly designed) - I have to say this is what is great about working with an outfit like BWR - stuff happens, and it really boils down to how business owners act when the going gets a little sticky - Fred really stepped in and took care of the situation.

Then of course, the real testing continued - a few weeks ago I had another track day in Seattle where I really pushed the car to its limits - absolutely flawless performance, no elevated temps, no hesitations, just awesome delivery of power. I will say that the BWR set up does have a huge impact on track times (much lower lap times), shift points (come way earlier), power on delivery at corner exit, etc. Where in the past I have historically had little experience at corner exits with power-on oversteer, with the SC kit on, you actually have to balance the rear tires scrapping for traction going forward and sideways at the same time - its really fun. At one point, I got the back end out about 25 - 30 degrees, back wheels spinning, but nicely under control. Whahoo.

So, in short, the BWR SC kit performs incredibly well under track conditions and my commendations go out to Fred and BWR for being a great company and resource.

Installed and no issues, no lights, nada issues...
DRS did the install.
Really does transform the car. The added power feels perfectly
matched to the car. I had a 260hp FMII Miata that couldn't handle the
added power. Was fun but, I never felt confident.
I have to say..with the BWR (and the other things I have done) this
Elise is almost my perfect car. (thats compared to many high dollar cars...
GT3, Ferraris etc.)

Thanks for kind words Tim, sorry for the trouble. Just an FYI folks, everyone in the group buy got the new version of the alternator bracket, so no worries there.

Mine's still on display on the floor of the living room. I've been too busy (doing it myself) and hope to get started next weekend. I'm also waiting on some adapters for the injection harness so I don't have to cut mine.

Its taken a while but I've been blown.

Just picked up from the shop and babied it 40 miles home. Installed a stage II exhaust same time. What is the break in period?

Cheers.......Phil

my very qualified (35 yrs experience, certified EFI tuner) installer said there was no break in period, "just drive the car" he said and I asked about 4 times. This is with the Gotham tune.

Installed! Claim off ... made things easy to get to. Claim still has to go on, after a couple of non-related items I want to do.

My installation has been complete for a couple of days- Thank you LT for for the helpful tips- The installation turned out nice and clean-

Tha car's still on stands, as I'm installing track pack suspesion, BWR anti-roll bar, RTV brace, deleting my shims, changing fluids, and I may even get up the courage to install my SS brake lines-

It's killin' me not driving it, but it'll be a whole different animal when I'm done-
