Not really, the Ford GT-40 was at best a british Ford imported to the US. The newer Gt was a US design but still built in England.

If you're looking for bigger power the 2GR will do it with some forced induction. It's a very stout engine. The stock rods aren't particularly strong but upgrade those and add some low compression pistons and the sky is the limit.

How much is the swap to the 3.5 liter v6? I have an 06 Elise and this is exactly what I'm looking to do.
