And it does not matter if someone has a case. You still have to defend yourself against it. And since I am invested in the outcome of this on either side, why should I do that?

And I intend on keeping it that way. That is not a good reason to lighten up.

Look, no matter what, a number of people will not be happy. So what? A lot of people were not happy we let the other thread happen. A number of people (a lot actually) have PMed me asking me to stop all of these threads or ban people. No matter what... some people will not be happy. I can only follow my own vision and I will continue to do so. If it works, it works. If not, there are competing forums with other visions of how things should operate.

I only ask that should someone agree to participate on this forum, that they do not continually question my decisions or my vision.
well im not doubting that theres litigation out there, but only being a loyal subject in your kingdom and not a principle, i wouldnt know that. i didnt know lawsuits were a threat to chat forums. and im not saying that facetiously. some of the boards im on (or been on) make this one look like a bunch of meditating monks. (my evo board and srt board quickly come to mind.) the only reason why i mention that, is because if forums get sued i would think they have been sued by now 10 times a month..
i never said u should open urself up to legal disputes, i asked an honest question how chat forums were liable. i guess theyre not, but in our sue happy society with so many lawyers running around, thats just the environment we've all created for ourselves.
chase, i didnt question ur decision as much as how the process of lawyers get involved. frankly i care less that the thread was closed. i believe everyone had ample space to state their case. thats fair enough in my book. good job.
question your "vision?" not sure i get that. we're talking about a chat board here, arent we?
good luck to all involved.
scotty, i believe u got your point across about your experience with the jay hass turbo kit.

It is admitted by all that he was much addicted to women, as well as very expensive in his intrigues with them, and that he debauched many ladies of the highest quality; among whom were Posthumia, the wife of Servius Sulpicius; and Lollia, the wife of Aulus Gabinius.

I have zero to add to the X vs Y argument. however, i will say this (and i feel a bit compelled to) I have been on this board for a pretty long while (over 2 years at least, maybe 3) and this is the one thing i can say.

Randy, thank the Buddah you run this forum, you have steered and managed it with grace, firm direction, and with out extreem'ism. and brought it up to such high regard that it is THE choice for people to expect their arguments to be heard. i think that is saying a lot!

Yeah some threads get canned, some people get banned - whatever... I have never ever had any reason to believe that Randy is not 99% accomodating and fair. ...i would kick someone out of my house if they violated my rules or endangered me too.

I seriously doubt that Randy has any legal exposure at all. He was providing the forum for Scott and Jay to make complete fools of themselves. They are not employed by Randy so he is off any hook there may have been. MHO is he had enough of the children calling each other names and posturing.

Jay unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view ) was the real loser because he elected to engage Scott rather than to cut it off from the start. He has a business and this cost him mucho denero.

I patiently await the next episode. I have too much time on my hands.

Unfortunately, even if that is correct, it would be something that would be decided by lawyers and a judge in a courtroom. Unfortunately Randy would have to pay a lawyer to do the representing to make that point to the judge. That is still money out of a pocket, and a liability.

It can still cost you huge amounts of money to prove your innocence.

Megasquirt is strictly for advanced dick wrestling, Maxisquirt, on the other hand, is for semi-pro use only, and a little goes a long way! Improved grip, better dixterity, prolonged contact, just a few of the advantages. Not for the timid or untrained!

Thank you.
It IS your forum after all. We all contribute via posts etc, but you are the boss (so to speak).
I'm a moderator on a Ducati Multistrada forum, as a group we really try lessen the load on the owner. It really doesn't have many problems, mostly spam- but every so often things start getting a bit 'out' there.

I quite appreciate this forum and the work done by you and the moderators.

Mark

Usually I hate the man but the moderators got it right. You should never have brought up lawsuits scotty it gets everyone nervy.

I think Jay Hass comes off as quite the scoundrel- thats all you needed to do scotty- he did a lousy job and paid with his rep and future possible business. Going to court for 10k is a joke, even 100k doesnt make that much sense.

Wow. Just wow. I totally missed out on this one.

Was this over the rumored (nothing haqrd to back this up) emanage ultimate recall?

As far as censorship goes this isn't a public media. It is a message board about a car... Again. I really thought this forum was above this type of thing....
