I just paid for mine on pay pal. I couldn't resist. I have not had my Elise very long but I definitely noticed that the shifting was less than desirable. I was also reading the recent Car and Driver track day article and the supercharged Elise really did not perform that well at all and they blamed it on the poor shifting. It was outperformed by numerous cars that it should have easily beat. I look forward to this modification.

Jim,
I am glad you found it. You had me worried as that little plastic piece is small and could fall somewhere and never been seen again since it is flat black. I put mine in my trunk once and it blended in perfect with the carpet and the lighting I had. An hour later it was right where I left it for safe keeping and I found it. These things happen.

The boots are in one piece.
I may machine some plastic sheath replacements out of
Delrin or aluminum.

I have to remove the cables and measure.

Are you sure Jim? The rubber booties I see in your pics look like they were cut or torn.

Now I see, yes I broke the booty. I have a habit of breaking stuff.

I thought you were referring to the shaft booties.

I'm going to attempt a repair before I wrap up the short shift project.

I'm so glad I have a tilting clam. Makes things so much easier.

Just put in my order.

I stared and stared at the instructions, and have decided that in the first photo, what are labelled as "R" clips, are actually the "C" clips, correct?

Notorious L.R.G. - I did label that with R instead of C. I have fixed it. Thanks for reading the instructions in that much detail.

Cool, thanks. I wonder if these should be ordered in advance additionally if they get tweaked during the install (4+ year old rubber left in the elements). I know Heim joints can fail sooner or require more maintenance exposed.

I wouldn't mind having a couple of these heim joint boots to put on the 2 heim joints that come with the kit since I park outside in the rain. If any one can source them please let me know.

On another note, I just showed the shift kit to my Japanese friend with an Exige (only other one on the island) and he loves it, so I'm ordering another one for him. I hope you have enough of them in stock..

The boots were in great shape. I went out of my way to damage it.
The stock boots are fine, just don't yank on them for no reason.

Put mine in today @ TurboPhil's place... took about 60 minutes.

I'll report back in a couple days when I actually get to drive the car (she's in pieces right now) - but shifting feels a lot more precise.

BTW, total weight savings of all components is 0.725 lbs.

Just an FYI... stay tuned!
