That's ultimately what it does, but it's not an incredible difference either way. True speed junkies will be disappointed... Of course this is relative to the individual's perception of "speed" and "acceleration."

You will probably notice the greatest difference in 3rd and 4th gears.


It's definitely much better than stock, but not mind-blowing in any way.

Lotus uses the results of an engine dyno, they're british so they use BHP, its not left open to interpretation as its clearly listed in their docs.

as for it not being a constant loss, well i'd say yes it is, since you're talking peak HP
