I'd like to see that. How does a car run around when it only has 4 tires about it to move?... Perhaps they're rolling around?

Cheers,

Phil

And I quote, "You can test the mass-air sensor with a scan tool by having someone monitoring the mass-air sensor while you drive WOT in second gear. You should see 225-230grams/sec at above 8200rpms. If you see much less than this you should replace your mass-air sensor element. These new mass-air elements may not survive harsh chemical cleaning and should just be replaced".
What is a scan tool? Can you get one from the loan a tool program at Advance? Do you measure it at the exaust? Now here is the big question: How does someone monitor the mass-air sensor while you drive WOT in 2nd gear?

Rick
The scan tool is an OBDII scan tool that plugs in under the dash. The generic ones at advance may or may not read the MAS data. Someone holds the scanner while you drive or visa-versa. If this looks like too much hassle, You could just get a new MAS and plug it in.

Then you haven't read all the posts, as mine has been up and running for almost a week now. Had a couple of small bugs that are working themselves out. I was the second to post that I was done. On the day my ECU was sent to me PES sent out two others as well, thus telling me that at least 3 were ready to go.

rstutts is waiting for his ECU, but his is installed.

Honestly this has got to be the best upgrade kit one could buy. Complete in every way shape and form. Not to mention the installation is nearly idiot proof. You do not even need to be mechanically inclined to get the job done, just adventurous and able to follow directions.

The only way the instructions could have been more idiot proof would have been to tell you how to heat the shrink tubing provided for the wiring.

If you have been thinking about this upgrade but have not pulled the trigger I would reccomend you call Fred and beg him to sell you a unit at the group buy prices. It is worth every penny.......

I just checked, the OBDII scan tool costs more than the MAS.
I have been on this Lotus Talk form for probably a month, and it is amazing how many acronyms I now know!

Heat shrink tubing(harbor freight heat-gun). Glad you are enjoying it. Someday I will get one on my daily driver.... I guess I'll have to stick with the FrankenLotus!

If I was in SoCal I would swap you rides for a bit, but alas I am not. Come on up to Sacramento and we can make it happen.

Okay, I have 2 questions.

I cannot remove the shorter stud on the head in step 97. I'm using a vise grip, but all it seems to do is strip the stud. I also sprayed some WD-40, but no luck. Should I file the stud down so I can have a better grip on it, or is there a better way?

Next question. when I adjusting the bushing, what is consider the inside? Am i suppose the push the bushing towards the passenger side of the car?

Thank You

Does everyone just re-use the intake manifold gasket like the instructions say? Not trying to double guess what appears to be a great kit, but this seems a bit odd based on just about every gasket I have ever worked with. I'm about to do the install tomorrow so I haven't seen the gasket yet- maybe it's obvious it can be reused.
