On step 163, you are suppose to reconnect the black hose to the air box flapper. Where does the other end go to?

Also, I can't find the orange hose that goes to the SC TB adapter. Where is the other end suppose to go?

How do I connect these back together?

Here is the formula:
Could someone please explain my torque wrench to me?

As everyone is scrambling to answer my air box hose question, some people can answer this question.

These shims fell out when I lifted up the clam (four on each side). Where were they?

On the road again!

All back together and works great! Only 20 miles on the install, so taking it easy, but no lights, leaks, or problems and GREAT power! About 10 hours on the install in my garage (not including the fussing with the ECU for the re-reflash.) Fred - thanks for your help, quick response, and GREAT KIT!!!!!

HELP! One of my studs broke off! The ones that connect the S/C to the head. I might've over torqued it, but I was using a torque wrench

Does someone have a picture or schematic of how the engine cover hinge is seated with the clam? A close up picture of the hinges with the engine cover up would be great.

I have it all together now with the exception of my ECU and this air hose configuration. Can someone answer which goes where?

I am not as far along as you, but when I removed the manifold, that orange tube was still attached to it. maybe this helps.

Chotto,

4 plugs into 3

You should have a orange tube that was in the car originally, hooked to your stock manifold. That would go between 1 and 2. If you really don't have one, you just need some soft of vacuum tube to plug 'em together.

K2S - Any pictures of the snapped stud? I assume it snapped off flush with the head, is that correct?

Are any of you getting some eratic idle patterns? I have about 60-70 miles so far and occasionally the rpms will bounce at idle and a few times the car has died while at a light.

Okay so I'm going to the hardware store tomorrow, is there a name for the stud that goes into the head and connects the SC manifold? Maybe I could just extract the stud, and find a bolt that fits, instead of a stud and a nut?

Thanks Goat and Brokenboy. As soon as you said the orange hose was still attached to the manifold, I looked right above my head to a shelf I put the manifold on and it was staring me in my face!

All done. Just need my ECU back now!

K2S - You are very fortunate that the stud snapped there and not at the head as that would have required drilling and that is an aweful angle. Just pull the blower back off, grip the stud with some vicegrips and turn it out of there. You will damage the exposed threads but obviously that won't matter anymore. Take the remnants down to a local hardware store and you should be fine.

I was planning on using a screw extractor, The blower was pretty difficult to put in, would the stock bolts fit?

If these are for the rear clam, I believe they come out of behind the 2 bolts that connect the rear clam to the rocker panel on either side.

What we've seen is that the idle is almost always better with the SC than prior to. Thus I think either you have a small vacuum leak and it is causing the idle air control to go wonky or you need to add a bit of static idle to the throttle(not sure how this is done on DBW). On the 05 cars you can adjust the idle set screw a bit in about 15 seconds to bump the idle a bit. These are 2 opposite conditions, but can have the same effect.
3rd option is that it may settle down as the car adapts.

What plugs are people going for?

I pulled my plugs last night, and the stock plugs on my 07 are NGK IFR6A's, which are Iridium.

Earlier in the thread, someone suggested NGK BKR7E-11's which are the copper V-Power plugs. They'll work, but will wear a lot quicker. At least you can gap 'em

I'm thinking of going with the BKR7EIX-11, which appears to be pretty comparable to the stock plug except for the heat range, and appear to be widely available.

Also, is the stock gap 0.044"?

I put in the BKR7EIX-11's and the stock gap is .044".
