Thanks Guys for all the help!

Thanks for the heads up on 138a guys. It was hard to see when working from above. I ended up using finger feel to get a socket on the 13mm. The 17mm seemed easier. The brace was a perfect fit.

I just couldn't stand it

I have around 130 miles on my s/c, and just had to floor it. I did red line it in 2nd. Not sure what the speed was, something like 75 in 2nd. I love my car!
Rick, I have never even heard of a station carrying 100 octane. Do normal stations in CA carry this? I nearest town to me has 2 redlights (Dresden), although Martin has 8, so we are limited on 100 octane. I asked an auto parts place about Dyno, he said nowhere around here>

Has anyone dyno'd yet?

I'm waiting for the tune. I drove a BWR car last week and found it outstanding but it would be great to know the numbers.

Cheers.......Phil

Look what I managed to do!

What are my options

P.S. I believe I am responsible for the damage. I do not blame BWR's craftsmanship for the broken manifold, if anything they have been more than helpful.

I think your only option is a replacement manifold. See what BWR will sell just the manifold to you for.

Yeah, that's what I thought

I wonder if VF is still selling the upgrade kit, and if it would even fit on the BWR. I always had the idea of, if it breaks, upgrade it. Just never thought I would have to replace it without even using it

I can't speak for BWR, but the cast manifold, though a major part of the kit, is still only one bit. I think Fred said he was in Europe but would try to check in. Ask him what the part cost would be.

1000 - >4000 (under load,otherwise it'll try to maintain 14.6 )
14.6

then
13.50
12.80
12.75
12.65
12.60
at WOT
12.50

idle it ought to swing from mid 14's to low 15's.

Charlie,

I'm installing the second weekend in November. When is the best time to get my ECU to you for a tune? Or do you have any plans to be in the Canoga Park area anytime soon for custom tuning?

Thanks,
Matt

Installed the SC by myself and the tight fit of the alternator bracket was by far the hardest part of installation. I layed on my back trying to get that damn alternator slipped back below the engine and in position for mounting for about an hour. It was the only time I walked away, frustrated and tired, and asked for help from my gf to finally align the unit. She pushed the bolt in while I had it pressed upward and aligned with the holes or the bracket.

I got the alternator bushing in place. It took me a bit, but then I figured out that i could use the 70mm bolt from the outside of the car to hold the alternator in place while i slid (slowly, mm by mm) the bushing in. once the bushing was in place - it is such a tight fight that it wont go anywhere once in place - I pushed the 130mm bolt in from the other side.

but now that i have that in place, i just figured out that i am missing a nut for the 70mm bolt. diss. I guess I am headed to Home Depot before I can continue further. Otherwise, the alternator is in place.

Its been a while, but I thought the 70mm bolted into a molded nut on the alternator.
