I almost made it through the entire install with out any assistance, but...

HELP!

Almost 3 years ago the first mod to my 2006 Elise was a Fujita intake- No regrets; loved it- But as we all now know, the reflash is for stock- So, I blew all of the dust off the stock intake, installed it, and now I'm a little confused by the vacuum hose arrangement-

I know there are a few posts that cover this issue, but there's not quite enough detail for my feeble brain- Besides, I had packed the Fujita installation instructions neatly away with the OEM intake, and there's no mention of replumbing vacumm hoses- So, I'm not sure why / how I came up with the Fujita arrangement-

Anyway, I was able to determine this much from LT threads (see below)- The long hose (red arrow) on the back VSS barb opens the flap- The orange hose (blue arrow) with the small canister, and connected by a "T", goes to the the intake- But where does the hose marked with the green arrow terminate? It's not very long, and I do not see any obvious connections on the box-

I have also attached the factory schematic (Thanks Tim Mullen), and cross-referenced to my photograph- I beleive the schematic shows a connection on the air box for the mystery hose-

Any help would be greatly appreciated-

PES Tune -- everything is firing perfectly, no issues, just pure FUN! Car purrs and growls when I need

What pre-dyno #'s are people getting?
I'm a little concerned as my dyno stock on Dynojet was 149.8 , 110 torque...seemed a bit low.
Perhaps, my Larini SE dual exhaust is restrictive?

You should get the car checked out. That is low. On Dynojet we are seeing 160-170HP. Specifically get a compression & leakdown test and have the valve cover removed to inspect the Cams.

Could be as simple as a dirty air filter, but like Fred said, it could be serious.

Compression and leakdown test were normal, although one was reported slightly higher, and cams were fine

Got forcefed install w/PES - no issues

I've had my car done a few weeks now. Its almost perfect - I now just get nice linear response that I just forget I even have it!

A few things though:

- seems to generate excessive heat in the engine compartment. FF suggested getting the BWR kit that removes the shielding but then someone else said thats not a good idea (would toast the trunk and/or cause the exhaust to overheat and cause a fire). Note, my engine temps are where they were before - but when you get out of the car and go to the trunk, you can definitely feel extra heat coming off the engine

- love the power. I'm actually almost scared of it! Can't really do much with it on a public road. I was hoping to check it out at the autox this weekend at Marina. I might wimp out though - its supposed to rain. I've gone in the rain before and thats a tossup - fun to drive, pain in the butt to work.

- treated the Elise to the Moroso oil pan at the same time - I figured cheap insurance (ok, not cheap but...)

- got new tires and brakes. I love the EBC brakes. Better the stock, better than the Porterfields.

- all in all, the best car now is even better

- By the way, whats WOT???? I am guessing it has something to do with putting the car to redline?

- Oh, be careful of this. I went to my dealer (SVAG) and got 2 service campaigns on the car. One was HVAC. The other was - get this - reflash the ECU to upgrade the software. Doh! Don't want to do that. They were very cool about it and marked it down but didn't do it. Great guys there - I really like that place. They are still hoping Lotus will release their SC as a kit. I was originally going to go for that but I'm glad I didn't wait.

Fred, or someone, can you comment on the heat generated?

WOT = wide open throttle

who did your tune?

Strangely, when you create more power, more heat gets generated! Darn those Laws of thermodynamics! Cooling system is up to the task.

Seriously, it hasn't been an issue. if it concerns you, a Von Hep rear panel eliminator will open it up.

Yes, heat, heat...would be nice for IC....my current Larini SE (with rear panel eliminated) was producing so much heat on to my plastic license bracket it was melting...

I do have the Von Hep rear panel elim. (thanks to BWR), and I ordered 2bular GT3 and decat (again through you), so hopefully this setup will accomodate the flow better once the kit is on.
