Install is complete, just have the airbox to put back in but though I'd change the filter out whilst the lid is out.

Might change the spark plugs too.

I'll be sending the ECU off this week and we'll see what happens when it's plugged back in.

Thanks again for all the help!

Glad you're making progress.

I changed my plugs to a colder version. So far no issues.

Keep us up to date.

Wayne

Wayne or anyone, on step 163 when re conntecting that black T connector hose to the supercharger how on earth is it supposed to hold, mine just looks like a tiny silver protrusion and not gold like in the pics?

Hmm on further inspection it looks like the tip is broken off

exlondoner, I had a few pieces broken in shipping, especially hose connectors. The good news is that I was able to run to my local auto parts store and found a replacement for the brass one that had broken on mine.

Mick,
Mine was also broken off. It was a silver colored piece. Must be a common problem...

I (actually Cory did it) had to go to Home Depot and pick up a brass fitting and hose to make up a new connector. Works fine.

Here's pic of the new hose and connector.

Wayne

We've had a few of those snap off in shipment. New ship without that hose connection installed. That's what I get for pre-assembling stuff to make it easy!

Fred,
It's really a minor issue in what is an absolutely outstanding kit!!

If you haven't gotten one yet, do yourself a favor and just do it.

Wayne

Install complete!
Reinstalled the boot lid (what a pain the arse), which still needs aligning etc...

Anyway started her up and she stuttered a little but then evened out within 30 secs, no CELs or anything unusual from the engine bay!

Idle seems a little high at 1k so I'm not sure what I should be looking for right now.

Took her for a little 15 min run and already notice a huge difference, even touching the accelerator pedal you feel something else just waiting to be unleashed it's weird - but a good weird!

Talking Ordered my BWR kit

Waiting to get my kit. I am the team Doc for Richard Childress Racing and guys from the engine/R&D departments are going to help me install.

Can't wait---Quite a different engine than these guys usually work on. Hope they can keep up!

Dipstick O-ring

Install has been going well, but I'm stuck on the very complicated step about not losing the dipstick o-ring (who's the dipstick?)

Anyway, I'm hoping I'm not the 1st and someone else has figured out the best way to get a replacement. Anyone?

Thanks,
Todd

Does anyone have the picture that goes along with this step?

82. At this point the Super charger is installed and it’s time to bolt the brackets together. The blower already has the main bracket on the blower and the pulley will already be installed on the blower. The pulley has been removed for better picture clarity.
Be sure bolt “B” is installed in the main bracket loosely. Swing the alt up to connect with mounting point “E”. Loosely install a the 40mm M8 bolt at point “E”. Loosely install the 40mm M8 bolt and nut at point “A” to the support bar as shown. Loosely install the bolts at point “C” and “D”—USE BLUE LOCTITE ON POINTS “C” AND “D”. You may need to rotate the main bracket a bit for everything to line up. Once the bracket are all lined up and ALL bolts have been loosely installed, tighten the bolts in this order:
E, D, C, A, B.
Torque specs for the above are as follows:
A and E, 15ft/lbs
C and D, 30 ft/lbs
B, 10 ft/lbs

Thanks,
Todd

I send a question to BWR at 3 AM EST Saturday night (really Sunday AM) and it takes them until 11AM EST Sunday morning to respond. They need to work on that customer service!!

All back together again and about 75mi on it since the install. Had few issues like a bad alignment on the valve oil return spraying oil and a lousy idle until I plugged in the connector back into the throttle body. It's still hesitating badly so I don't think it's ECU learning issue at this point.

Anyway CEL was on so I cleared the codes (from my previous issues) and drive for a while. Now the codes are:
P0507 - Idle control system RPM high
P0508 - Idle control system circuit system low

I read that the 507 could be dirty MAF (I'll clean it again) or dirty throttle body. What else should I check. Ideas on the 508?

Thanks,
Todd

Sorry about that clip, Todd. Did you double check you have the IAC connector in? 9 times out of 10 problems like this are forgetting to put a connector back in. I still do it today myself sometimes. Crawl all over an make sure they're all in. Did anyone hack up your wiring harness? Previously in this thread a customer had all sorts of issues and it was a connection in his harness.

Don't sweat the clip that was easy, I'm more bothered that my intake advertises PES instead BWR.

Not sure which is the IAC, but I will look around for more empty connections. That's how I found the throttle body connection when it kept stalling. My harness appears to be original and in good shape.

Thanks,
Todd

The IAC is a white plug on the left side of the throttle body if looking from the driver side of the car. Also check your plugs for any arcing issues on the boots. I coated them with dielectric grease and my hesitation problem is gone. Good luck with the rest of the install you are going to love the power. Which tune did you get? Tommy

CharlieX tune. The IAC was off (great call) and bellow between the airbox and the throttle body wasn't fitting well on the airbox. It is now running FANTASTIC! The CEL is still on, but I suspect it will go off in a few cycles. The power is amazing, I can't wait for the next autoX with the greater torque and lower cam change.

Thank you BWR!

Could someone with a CharlieX tune verify the cam switch is 4500 RPM- The car's running great, but I was not expecting the cam profile to switch this low- Thanks!
