It looks like the super charger is on top of the engine. I don't think that we will have enough clearance to fit this type of s/c in our Elises. Unless if we could somehow relocate that air intake/cooler.

that looks cool.....i wonder if it would be possible to fabricate the intercooler to sit on its side.....there might be enough room if it did....

Just to clarify, the supercharger is on the side and only the intercooler is on top. You could use the intercooler location that Forcedfed is using on their turbo kit and it should fit fine.

That intercooler needs an air conditioned engine bay in summer. But perhaps the blue color alone keeps it already cool?

I am also missing the nice little suction fan Forcedfed showed us at their intercooler.

Somebody has seen that supercharger before?
(I would like to know how much boost it makes. )

Okay, pardon my ignorance but would it be possible to have the intercooler in the front of the car where it gets a direct air flow. Also, the distance from the front of the car to the engine will also help disappate some heat.

Not likely since the SC would not be able to provide enough boost to compensate for the pressure drop over such a long run. Maybe possible in a Turbo application if you could find room for it.

Not to mention that I have a sealed duct forcing air through my intercooler. The blue color looks pretty though.

I suspect the airflow from the upper intake scoop in an Exige is plentiful. Unless you're drag racing, you shouldn't need a fan if the airflow is sufficient.

I think rush hour summer traffic would be the issue. I'd like to see a clutched supercharger option where I can leave it off most of the time for gas mileage and ease of driving in the wet/cold. Then, when I hit the track I flip on the clutch switch and get the supercharger.

Exactly the issue. Sitting in traffic with no air flow over the core is a problem. That is why we designed a fan system with a thermostat to regulate the temperature of the charge air going into the motor. Plus this supercharger is sitting on top of the motor getting all kinds of toasty.

I doubt you'll be missing any loss of power due to heat soak in rush hour traffic.

I'm guessing that the blue coating on the charger and pipes is ceramic heat coating just for that reason.

You'd get incredible lag with a setup like that. Need to keep the plumbing short.

Can the intercooler be ducted to the passenger side air intake?

seems like the best way to me, too. Don't see why a fan and some sort of shroud couldn't be fabricated to duct the airflow from the passenger side over the intercooler.

What's your take on this?

>>>Hey Stan, What's your take on this?<<<

Looks pretty good....the SC section and belt drive would fit in our cars. The intercooler plumbing and location would need to change as has been pointed out. Most likely, the throttle response and feel of the motor would be superior to most turbo rigs. So the twisty road capability would be retained. Mostly the engine would feel like it had more cubic inches. In a straightline, it should be easier to launch, and with a much reduced need to use astronomical revs for the best results. It would likely be as fast as some turbo setups with a bit more power due to the crisp response.

I'd like to see them CARB certify this rig for the 111R so that they could be sold and used on our cars legally. They could also sell a quantity to the Celica crowd to help with the numbers.

Without going into the engine there would not be much upside potential for cranking up the boost.

CARB would be nice, but I'm fine with "For offroad use only" as long as I can get something on my car. Ive got the fever for Forced Induction....

Any word on if this unit will be offered by Lotus? Also, what sort of ECU changes are we looking at? Simple as a rising rate FPR or more?
