Is it possible to get some more power out of factory SC?

Have any of you guys tried tuning a factory supercharged Elise? Would it be possible to install a smaller pulley, for example? It looks like the Katana and BWR non-intercooled SC's are making a bit more power than the factory setup, so I guess it's possible in theory, but maybe the supercharger is just too small.

I'm trying to decide whether to buy a factory SC car or a used one which I'd modify myself.

Thanks.

That seems to be an often talked about dilemma here on Lotus Talk.

I did search, and I also looked at all thread titles in the engine and forced induction forums to before the Elise SC arrived. If you can think of a good search term to find those threads, I would appreciate a hint.

I haven't seen any threads about modifying the factory Elise SC. There's a kabillion about the larger SC.

This is a legitimate question.

I'm wondering if the Gotham tune was made for SC cars with intercoolers. If Charlie could safely eek out more power from the Katana/BWR (Non-IC) kit.. I wonder if he would have already done it.

If I understand correctly the Gotham tune just opens up the throttle on the Exige S which only opens around 60%. That's why he can net such strong gains with only an ECU tune. **

I'm not sure if the Elise SC has the same problem, and if it does, it's probably minimal compared to the Exiges with larger blowers.

** I may be incorrect here

Most Toyota (or Toyota based) ECU tunes are pretty conservative, so yes there should be some gains there with a good tune.
