Rear clunking noise.Possible cv joints?

Under acceleration I have a clunking noise comming from the rear of the car. I suspect cv joints. Has anyone else experienced this?

Check the bolts to the arms. Definitely get under the car and look.

Also can be shock mounting bolts (top and/or bottom). Even a 1/4 turn loose can cause such a noise. I've had this happen a my Seven, Elan, Europa & Esprit... so it can't be any different for an Elise!!!

Since it only happens on acceleration but not at other times it could be the exhaust contacting something. Such as the edges of the hole in the diffuser. Because under acceleration the motor shifts in it's rubber mounts. This is easy to check for and fix. Also check for other loose stuff such as the wheel liners. If those or similar are okay, I'd be very careful B4 driving the car much.
