Reverie carbon fiber airboxes (like a sheetmetal intake)

I was surfing around looking for a dyno chart for the Reverie Daytona intake, so I went to their main site and I see that they make a lot of other cool stuff out of carbon fiber.

They offer a lot of different configurations of carbon fiber "airboxes", really a carbon fiber intake manifold.

I was just curious if anyone knew how these things work, is there any real performance advantage? When would someone implement something like that?

They sure look cool. Just piqued my curiosity. Or I'm just bored at 1:30am while working on software code.
