Stock Shift Linkage Adjustment - LotusTalk

Has anyone ever adjusted their shift linkage successfully? I was told that a proper crossgate adjustment would take all the "notchiness" out of my shifter. I have to say, this car has just about the worst shifter I've ever encountered. The manual isn't terribly clear on the precise proceedure. Any help would be appreciated.
