To be able to use the OE Venting and Charcoal canister in the Pro Alloy tank you would have to use the discriminating valves out of the OE tank or other substitute. These separate the fluid from the vapor inside your tank. The 05 tanks have one and the 06 and up have two inside the tank itself. It would be very difficult to incorporate them into the Pro Alloy tank. If you just vent straight into the charcoal canister it will end up filling with fuel (that’s Bad). The Pro Alloy tank is designed to vent into the atmosphere. If you bypass the charcoal canister you may get a MIL code. I know the Charlie X can disable it with a re-flash.

I would recommend including roll over valves on the fill and vent side of the Pro Alloy tank for safety sake.

I agree that it is a great shame to cover up such a good looking part.

Thanks for the info, I know this was discussed before but i dont really remember the outcome. What are the side effects of removing the canaster besides the possible MIL light?

you might have saved some weight on the tank but with more gas then the stock tank it will weight more

...but maybe the idea is more for fuel starvation in left handers and as a bonus it is lighter.

The possibility of smelling fuel vapors around the car. Well, and it’s not CARB legal. Could be an issue if you were to sell the car later. But if it’s a track only car then no worries.

The ProAlloy tank is a sweet solution for track focused cars. We've got a client in Northern CA running one in his 211 with great results.

For street driven cars, David has detailed the complexities of the install.

Our new tank exchange program is really the best solution for most clients who want a simple solution that maintains street legality. See more info: HERE

Ralph@V2 has been running this solution with excellent results.

This isnt a track only car and the fuel vapor thing might get old. I think i will probably just go with the solution shinoo described. Thanks for the info guys.
