Most of the aluminum under my 2011 Elise SC is bare, just like the previous years' models I have seen. The diffuser and the tray under the engine are painted black.

Not coated but it is anodised so doesn't need anything further

My undertray and diffuser are also bare. It might be a SC vs. R thing.
