I'm going to get my lotus Elise chromed why would it look bad

I looked into doing it but it would add 55.3lbs to the weight of the car, so I didn't. Otherwise it sounds like a great idea!

Most of us buy a Lotus for the way it drives - that tactile feedback that no other car can give you. We're not exactly the 'hey, check me out bitches' crowd.

Honestly, a stock Elise or Exige attracts a bit too much attention for most of us. And those of us with the Chrome Orange, Krypton Green or Saffron Yellow paint schemes chose them as a means of self defense, hoping the typical inattentive zombie driving the Suburban might notice us in time to take evasive action.

Chrome just says 'douchebag who earned his money in a less than traditional fashion'.

Not so sure about that anymore - have you seen the new VP of Marketing?

you can have it wrapped in whatever color you want these days... also protects paint if installed correctly with the right vinyl. not that I would EVER go chrome.. Flat black, yes.. but then again.. why?
