For those who do not have a supercharged car, do not drive a supercharged car. You will feel vaguely dissatisfied with your NA car for quite a while afterward.
For those who upgrade to a supercharger, the chase has begun; you will feel the desire for more hp as the months and years roll past.

BOE is over in Kansas right? I thought about driving that way for a little road trip this summer just to check out their shop. I wonder if they have any Elise's sitting around with their superchargers? I'd love to experience a drive with a SC.

Think that was bad? I went from my NA 05 Elise to darkSol's 365+WHP (IIRC) Rev400 Elise.
Night and Day. Still plan to boost mine if I keep it.

It is very easy to have a warped perspective when you have driven some very fast cars. The NA car can still pull the panties down on 99% of the cars out there on the road. I would say the NA car is "fast" (4-5 seconds @ 0-60). Any 6-7 second car is "quick" Any 3-4 second car "very fast". And sub 3 is just tunnel vision fast. I have had the pleasure to drive some sub 3 seconds cars and it does make fast/quick cars seam "slow".

Did it go boom? Both folks I know that went the TVS route have had MAJOR issues while the MP62 crowd just pounds out the miles. Just my observations

MP62's don't have the spotless record you imagine. Most people don't whine when the supercharger dies, they just get another.

TVS is not an ideal fit for the 2ZZ. Do some homework. Besoides it is pretty well documented that putting more than ~265HP thru stock tranny terminates that pretty quickly as well.

I'm not sure where you're getting your information, but that's not correct at all. There are literally hundreds of TVS cars on the road. Yes, you will eventually have motor problems with enough of them out there, especially those mated to to standalone ECUs where the end user has the ability to play with the tune. The flashed cars are all very conservative and proven. I have replaced many many motors for cars running Katana kits, but that doesn't mean the blower is wrong for the car.... Once there's enough of anything, you'll eventually start having circumstantial issues....
As for volumetric efficiency and correct sizing, the TVS 1320 is MUCH better suited for a free breathing 2ZZ than the small MP62. Use a compressor chart and map out the blowers. The MP62 is way over spun for this motor. It's been shown in depth on this forum. There's no need to rehash a thread that had fully vetted all this YEARS ago.... ![]() Cheers, Phil
