My Customized Floor Mats
I can't find the original thread for this, but taking inspiration for someone on here that had customized his floor mats with rectangular "Lotus Sport" patches, I decided to put Lotus logos on mine.
I bought some Lotus iron-on patches from eBay. I bought both the classic yellow/green/gray ones and black & white ones that I finally decided to go with. I used a Dremel with a cut-off disc to cut away the carpet pile and then used fabric glue to fix the patches down. I'm very happy with the result (not quite so happy with how dirty my aluminum looks in these photos). |

I did the same thing.
I'm about to ruin your day though.... The white logo is going to get filthy. Unfortunately, I couldn't get mine cleaned and they were always a 'dirty gray' sort of color. Looks great though.

After gluing them on, I did have the idea that I would have used Velcro. Although that might add too much thickness and make it impossible for them to lie below the mat surface. Hmm, sudden thought. I could use Scotchgard on them. Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com Free App |

No, it's a cell phone holder. I only know because I found the last owner's receipt for it. Cost something like $57 from Lotus of Beverly Hills.

But it comes with such a great free cellphone / loose change holder behind our seats. (My actual cell phone holder is the passenger seat, or if its filled... the command "Hold this")

Done! I just ran out and bought some Scotchgard carpet protector from the local Home Depot, sprayed the mats and they're drying now

Makes no difference, really, I prefer the greyish silver color anyway for the Logo instead of blazing white against the black background.
Oh, looks good.

I'd recommend that you buy some spare patches as long as you can get them from the same source as the first ones.
You will need to replace them sooner or later because they get filthy and / or will tear. And since you had to dremel your carpet it will be easier to have replacements of the same size ready to go. You might not find that size again in a year or two. I had to replace mine twice already since I first did this mod in 2007 or so. I was lucky to find replacements which were slightly bigger than the original ones.
