Another blip on the radar
Well I had planned on doing a big update today, however my plans were diverted AGAIN.
I was taking my GF to work earlier today and this happened: ![]() ![]() Long story short my drivers rear wheel fell off, I skidded intot he grass, and my wheel rolled about 100 years into a cotton feild. SUPRISINGLY there was no major damage, as you can see above the side skirt has a peice missing and there is a lower section cracked below it. I'll repair those peices this weekend and have those spots touched up next week. Everything else is fine. The diffuser is scraped up, the rotor will need to be replaced, but no other damage. I was able to locate a set of studs at a local auto store that came on the E36 M3 and replaced the lost studs with those. On a much lighter note I was able to get the Corbeaus installed last night, I dont have installed photos yet, as I planned on doing that tonight, but here is something to tide you guys over with. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As you can see all the bolt holes line up properly, I did have some trouble getting a few bolted in, but it was more of an issue with my rails and not the seats. The last picture is a document they included in the box. Be aware, these are a TIGHT fix, I'm just under 6 foot, 160lbs, 32in waist and I'm very narrow in the shoulders. If your more than a 36-38 waist forget these. They do feel amazing compared to the stockers though. Their also much lighter. The shipping invoice for the one box, with all the packing material and both seats weighed a total of 33lbs. Hopefully I'll do these repairs this weekend and having everything together and going by next week, and I'll try to do an updated post with the seats in the car tomorrow.

I appreciate it!
I think im going to hold off on a proper repair until later on. I haven't had my car in months, and with winter fast approaching Im running out of good driving days. I'll do a poor man's repair for now and once cold weather hits I'll make the proper repair and respray.

Got the deck lid on tonight, having some issues with the push button start. If anyone has the button and short wire harness (6 inch wire with square junction box) that runs from the push button and plugs into main wire harness I have paypal ready. It seems like there is a poor connection where the prongs from the push button end go into the square junction box. Plus my LED is burned out anyway so I'd like to replace it.
ALSO having some issues getting the proper bulbs for all 4 tail lights. Most of them poped when my buddie unplugged them and had the battery connected. If someone could provied me with part numbers for every bulb in the 05 tail light assembly it would be a HUGE help.

Yeah, DEFINTLY need a new push button start. I had to hotwire it to get it to start last night. I honestly hate that aspect of the car, I wish you could also start it by turning the key as well.

I've had a pretty productive days, so I've got my new scoops and spoiler installed, and made some mesh grills for my engine cover. Also included some pics of the seats installed. Hoping to get my splitter, canards, and side skirts installed this week.

Thanks for the link! I saw that a while ago and couldn't find it when I needed it. I ordered a new push button, should be here Thursday. I've been using a pair of pliers to cross the two pins to start the car since the button when out, haha.

Took the Elise out for a cruise in some local canyons yesterday, the weather was PERFECT! Also, these Eagle F1 tires rock. This was the first time I've got to stress them and they were right on key. There is a very quick, almost 360° turn that I'll usually get pretty sideways on going downhill, but I was glued to the road this time around.
Also, I've gotten the canards and Chazz's front splitter on since my last update, doing the side skirts this week!

Well I'm from a arid, desolate patch of earth called Lubbock in West Texas . There's only one good driving spot in the whole area, and that canyon patch is it.
I won't explain West Texas to you, but I have a quote that will. West Texas "Imagine a post apocalyptic wasteland; now, imagine that wasteland has been nuked. The result would look something like West Texas. The only difference would be that the zombies go to church less often and zombie cheerleaders have saner mothers. It is a simple place with simple values: Kill homosexuals and always remember to check under the bed for Jews before going to sleep. On fields so flat that you can see Canada, West Texans try to grow cotton. This is adorable, due to the fact that the top soil leaves the state every spring in huge brown eye-stinging clouds. Using strains of cotton specifically bred to grow on the moon, the West Texas cotton farmer manages to eke out a living and even finds time to become an alcoholic. Tornados occur so often you hardly notice them..."

Got my exhaust on today, been running a straight catless header for the last few weeks. I had a 14 inch Kooks race muffler welded to the slip pipe on the header. Still need to go back and have the shop weld a hanger, but its a great sound!

I contacted Corbeau US about a sponsorship and about these seats. They are not affiliated with Corbeau UK, so they could not offer me anything in the form of a discount/sponsorship, but they were kind enough to act as a mediator between me and Corbeau UK. They processed my card, transfered the funds to Corbeau UK. Corbeau UK shipped the seats to Corbeau US's facility, then we set up additional shipping for them to be delivered to me. Was a pretty effortless process on my part.

It's starting to feel like the Bill Murray movie, Groundhog's Day, around here. 😒🔫 |
