Windshield washer doesn't spray water

It will pump out a little partial squirt each time I pull the stalk, but it stops pumping immediately, as though the bottle were empty-which it is NOT. I checked the water hose leading from the water storage bottel and the tube attached to the squirters on the front end. nothing works, so I am asking whether some of you guys/gals could suggest what I should do to to fix it. thanks, everyone! No dealers in my entire state.

check for a clogged line. disconnect the line, LOW PSI air injection.
while the line is off, check if the pump is working
divide and conquer

Someone also told me there's some sort of gasket in the fluid reservoir that can cause clogging.

My car did the same thing when I first bought it. Surprisingly, all I have to do every once in a while is go back and give the reservoir a good shake and the flow and spray increase markedly.

Shake first, dismantle second.

Yep - what others said - had the same problem

Some washer fluids tend to gum up. Check the gasket first and as Doug said, shoot some low psi air through it.

Should do the trick.

BTW - you shouldn't be driving your car in the rain anyway!

Great info!
I just checked mine an sure enough not a drip came out of the squirter, even though the pump was working.
I took the reservoir out and boy, what a mess in there.
It was still 3/4 full with the original fluid (or what it turned into) which the car came with 5 years ago.

Cleaned everything out including that rubber gromet with the little filter holes where the pump sticks in.

And it's working like new again
