Windshild cleaner issue - LotusTalk

Hello,

My windshield cleaner seems to have petered out this weekend. The tank has a reasonable amount of fluid left (of course) and I don't see anything blocking the nozzles... but when I pull the lever back, I only get dribbles on the front half of the windshield. I figured I'd better ask the experts first before I go dinking around looking for what I'm guessing to be a leak?

I've never used the windshield wiper....let alone the fluid.

nozzle plugged , or lines leaking, or bad pump. My guess would be plugged nozzle.

stick a needle pin through the nozzle, that should clear up whatever is blocking it.

check valves may have gone bad as well. lotus garage has them for cheap, and its a quick swap under the front access panels. if the needle trick doesnt work you can pull the check valve out (its just snug fit in there) and blow in it..one way shouldn't allow flow, the other should.

I'm 99,98% sure that your little mesh screen in the pump is clogged up from the lag of use because

Just remove the fluid tank (slides out towards the top) disconnect the line, empty the reservoir and pull out the pump.
There is a little mesh screen in there which clogs up when the windshield washer is not used frequently.

What do I win in case that I'm correct

Mr. C you're correct. You win the horror show I found inside the extra fluid tank and the needle I used to realign my nozzles after misaligning them so badly they became trunk/engine cleaning nozzles.

Thanks for the heads up about the sludge. That was my culprit as well. This is why I love LT.

Yea that stuff is nasty. I sprayed it out with a hose on to my driveway... it was stuck to the pavement for a good month until I manually scraped it off.

hahaha......got caught in the rain once in 2006 and had rain-x on it, so didn't have to use the wiper.

The tank weighs a fraction of a pound empty, a few pounds full. Just take a dump before driving instead
