you can always cover your entire car with vinyl. I saw a Supra (I think) covered with matte black and it looked pretty cool.... I've been thinking about doing that on my Exige so I don't have to worry about scratches and swirlmarks. I have no idea how much it will cost though... material will probably be cheap but labor will be $$$$ and the results will be highly dependent on the skill of the shop.

I had some experience with vinyl graphics back in my ricer car days. I saw some paint jobs get damaged from the removal of the vinyl stickers. I'd be wary about doing that. What if the Starshield folks came out with colored Starshields?

for me, paint and front windshields are treated as a consumable like tires and engine oil. Otherwise I'd never be able to enjoy the car, worrying where I park, how close to follow other cars, track driving etc... as for retaining value of the car, use a reputable place and keep the receipt, that should be OK for most potential buyers, unless they are collector types. I would put that 3M stuff over the headlight/turn signals though.

I agree fully, does anyone else put 3m on their bumper, and fender arches. Sticky tires tend to spit up lots of dirt and dead rubber onto the paint.

It's a custom non Lotus color. "So bright I had to wear sunglasses" it's stunning in person. You can't see the stripes in the pics, to bad it's the coolest part.

One center stripe with two small offsets. The color is amazing (lighter yellow than I would personally go, but great nonetheless) and the stripes are great!

The other Lotus in the picture is Solar Yellow. My Exige's yellow is close in tone to Ferrari Fly Yellow.

I agree. A vinyl wrap when done properly can look amazing... plus you can do all sorts of crazy graphics as they don't cost anymore to do. You can change it up every few years or every few months if you really wanted to.

Oh, and the vinyl wrap protects the car from chips. Another bonus.

Really like that color.

I love Laser Blue...wish it was pearlescent though. If I did change colors, I'd go pearlescent orange or "Pearl Orange" on Lamborghinis.

Speaking of Lambo colors, I'm surprised no one mentioned this thread...

The person that bought Randy Chase's SC Elise is having his car painted a custom color. I don't want to spoil the unveiling, but so far it looks awesome.
