B&M Install + CF Console

Received my B&M shift kit today and thought I'd throw some pictures out. It's an impressive piece of work. I'm not going to post any instructions, as the included ones are very well designed and simple to implement. Since I had to pull the console, I took the opportunity to buy myself an early Christmas present - Shinoo's CF center console (A/C surround on order with Indy). Total installation time was about 2 hours for the both of them, and that was going slow with a couple beer breaks. Having both shift levers in-hand educated me on just how poor the OEM design is...very disappointed with Lotus on that. While unable to test drive (snowed 2" here today ) I can still feel how much more positive the shifts are, not to mention the peace of mind that my shifter won't bust off somewhere in BFE.

Dave,
Thank you for posting the pictures. It looks very nice! Is it heavier and shorter than the stock one? It does look about the same size as the stock one. You are tempting me!

The B&M is a little heavier than stock, especially with that beef-eating sumo ball. It may be a bit shorter, but not anything noticeable to me.

Thanks, for the info Dave. Are the throws any shorter? Since it's not bent like the stock one, do you bang the side of your leg when putting in reverse? Does it feel better than the stock one since it's not bent? I know you didn't have to use the threaded adapter for the shift knob, but does the adapter for the M10 screw in replacing the M8 stud?

I really didn't notice shorter throws - but will be able to tell more when the snow melts and actually drive the car. Reverse throw distance seems about the same as stock (maybe a pinch more?), and yes to the stud adapter...the kit includes both as well.

What do these gauges show and what is your floor mat? Also, do you really have a nitro application? If so, how is it?

Thanks Dave, looks like the shaft is about 1.5" shorter and 50% thicker
than oem. I think this should be my next mod (after the wheels and tires).

You can get the floormats here: http://www.thematsite.com/autofloorm...selModel=ELISE

The gauges are DC Volts and Nitrous pressure...yes it's for real. Search 'nitrous' for more.

Dave, thanks for posting the pics. Looks good, but would like to see Sector 111 offering everything to the tranny in one package.

Lotus, you should be ashamed of the OEM lever and the manner in which you are handling warranty on them.

Dave,
Cool. Thx for posting pix and comments. I'm glad to hear you have noticed an improvement with the B&M.

The Stig put one in his car and is also quite pleased - and he is quite a sensitive fellow...

You mean like our upcoming Sequential Shifter? Well at least it'll replace everything to the cables....

Ok it's beauty and good design but with it the movements are shorter between the gears? or the movements of the gears are exactly the same of stock? I don't like stock gear leverage because it has long traveller from a gear to another.
I prefer a short movement gear leverage.
