You might consider checking out uship.com. I found a transport company on there twice now and have had good experiences. They were different carriers each time though, and probably wouldn't be of use to you in your area. They have a model similar to ebay feedback which allows you to get a good idea of who you are dealing with. It worked very well for me, but YMMV.

Doesn't Norm Baker offer their own shipping (contracted I think). I'd speak to them and find out the details. However, Intercity is worth the price, remember as with everything in this world...you get what you pay for.
