that's weird... may be the pads aren't bedded in yet or pistons need rebuilding. Usually (to best of my knowledge) if there's air in the system, it feels soft.

I always had trouble with my pedal feel. Last winter, I removed the ABS unit, replaced the hoses with braided one, brake check valve Wilwood, proportional valve for the back, and now the pedal is firm as rock... Very happy.

ABSOLUTELY make certain the bleed nipples are cracked open juuuuuuuuuuust enough to allow fluid flow and no more -
