Bullet holed V6 Exige in car chase in Red 2

Did a search, didn't get a hit on red2 so posting...

Just saw the new Red 2 movie trailer. There's a car chase in it involving a blue v6 Exige. Goes under a semi. Something I've pondered in my Elise but don't have the guts to ever try.

The RED 2 Trailer is Here! - ComingSoon.net

Note the bullet holes across the front of the Exige. I can see the board discussion now ... if bullet holes require you to replace your crash structure or not.

Don't try it, you will fail miserably, like in the fast and the furious the truck has been lifted considerably..

Is this CGI? Didn't the first cars only roll off the line a few weeks ago? I don't remember seeing this color car in any of the earlier photos or on display.

Actually, they wouldn't have to be lifted all that much for an elise to fit under. I actually measured my car then one of our delivery trucks right next to it. The trailer was 2" too short to fit under.

Sounds like it's time to get them to park on a couple boards and get a few pics underneath

Impressed as to the excellent condition Helen Mirren appears to still be in.

Got to check out this film (unaware of the exige), amazing performance by lotus driver Matt Becker for the stunts and of course by the car itself. Best part was my 3 year old son. I have been searching for a laser blue Elise and he knows the car well as we have looked at many pictures together. As soon as the exige made its appearance he says "Dadies car!".

Not sure about this movie, but the trucks were definitely lifted in F&F - at least according to an article I read about the movie stunts.

I thought it was a very poor performance by the Exige. It wasn't unable to lose someone chasing in a Range Rover!

It reminded me of John Travolta in Swordfish driving a TVR Tuscan while being chased by some Escalades (or some other roll-over-when-cornering fast SUV). He had to resort to a rocket launcher to get rid of them, when in reality they would have been left in the dust at the first corner.

Saw this film a while ago ... was a good fun movie, well worth the $10 for a ticket.

My only concern was ... in the Exige chase scene the baddies are firing at the car ... and when the bullets ricochet, there are sparks! ... maybe it's a "special version Exige" .. or they use "special bullets that spark off fibreglass"!

Go figure

Yes, that has been pointed out before somewhere. Thinking about it, I suspect that bullets don't even spark when penetrating thin sheet steel. Anyone got first hand experience?
