Didn't the motion sensor go off when they broke into the car?
You would have thought that it would have scared them away. On a side note, it looks like the Cobra alarm has options for a glass breakage sensor and window raising option. Has anyone found where to get the parts and install them? |

sorry your car was broken into.
no matter how lousy the GPS is don't leave it out. Don't even keep a candy bar lying around. I guarantee someone will steal that. You'd be surprised.

They passed a law in Florida that you may use LETHAL FORCE to protect yourself or property from a criminal. I just traded in my rifle for a .40cal automatic, and a carry permit. Id shoot him in the ****ing head for breaking into my car, his life is worth nothing to me, hes obviously a piece of ****

...lethal force for protecting property, seriously?..well, that's new to me, at least since i last studied the revelvant laws twenty years ago when you could be put away for doing so...
...i posit that until the first time the thug lunges his screwdriver at you, there's no justification for killing him, and by the time you draw your concealed weapon after that first lunge, he's probably already bolted far enough from you that there's no longer any imminent threat of bodily harm, and the best you'll manage is to shoot him in the back out of spite... ...i have nothing against concealed handguns per se, but i think it's wrong to brandish one unless you intend to use it, wrong to use it unless you intend to kill your target, and wrong to kill your target unless it poses an immediate threat to your personal safety...in application, the screwdriver radio getaway fails on the last count, and to brandish under any other circumstance only invites escalation of the situation - over a couple hundred dollars?.. ...it's just not worth it...

...not since '89, no - plenty of cases from before then of people going to jail for protecting personal property, though...
...real property (trespass) has always been a different story in texas, of course...

You will likely spend much more in attorney’s fees than whatever the value is of the item being stolen. Shooting them isn’t worth it unless you have no other choice.

I leave the top off. Let them take whatever they want. If someone resorts to stealing, I would not want to be in their shoes.
I imagine spending a couple of hundred bucks for the vandalism would be easier to live with than killing another person. Maybe I'm too soft. My brother has stolen from my father when he was on drugs. Should I have killed him for taking that couch? You say you would have if he stole from you... I have a problem with that. What about the family of the thief? And is a $400 top worth the possibility of going to JAIL or PRISON? HELL NO!!! I would rather pay for a new top every year than go through that crap. Now, I am not opposed to punishment for said crimes. I could understand giving him a serious beating, maybe even chopping off a finger or hand as in some Muslim countries, but not killing him. Not for theft. Murder? Sure. Theft? Nope.

. It's not for the little things; it's for significant losses and should only come into play then.Perhaps, you may want to read your policy. The company is contractually bound to cover those losses contemplated by the policy. FWIW, Comprehensive losses typically don't affect your rate, either. Perhaps, you would be a bit less critical if you actually educated yourself about insurance. To the OP: If you have Comprehensive coverage your top should be covered, less the deductible. The GPS may or may not be covered, depending on the verbiage in your policy. |
