How about a mud flap for the rear of the car to stop rock damage to paint?

Then you need to drill holes on the rims of your rear clam. I don't think so

You could make it attach to the rear fender liner with a bracket.

Is that part actually layed up on a curved surface, or is it a flat sheet that just bends to the shape of the wheel arch?

It's flat sheet and bends to shape of the wheel arch.

Similar size as the factory, and I don't know.

If you like, you can cut to its min. size just good to cover for protection

Can you post pics from further away. How much more of tire does it cover over stock or is it the same coverage?
