Challenger Grill

I finally finished my Challenge Grill. It fits like a glove. I went through several prototypes before I got it perfect. It is made out of all aluminum and powder coated black. I didn't like the exposed look of the panel eliminator with the Arqray single tip and $600 for the Challenge Grill from Symbolic to waaaay too much money for this. If you want me to make you one, I can for $350 plus shipping. I can cut the hole for an Arqray single tip or I can send you one without a hole. If you have a different exhaust, I can send you the grill without a hole and without it being powder coated for $325 plus shipping. You can then cut your own hole and have it powdercoated.

Birmingham!

Hey Chotto--
I see Birmingham on your Michigan plate...
I grew up there. (Villa street when I was a wee tot,
then out near 13 Mile Road and
Lahser when I was older)
Where are you located? What is the Elise like
in Michigan winters?

Cartoonz, an ex Michigander....

My Elise slept in the garage through this Michigan winter. ( Although it wasn't too bad )

I'm in Commerce Township (Wolverine Lake to be exact). The roads are pretty bad here, particularly this time of year being pothole season and all. The biggest problem that we run into when we do Elise drives are the lack of roads with curves. Everything is so straight here.

I'm suprised I will be the first to ask:

what does it weigh?

looks nice, and I wasn't a fan of the grill before. Now that I see yours I'm starting to like it!

I'm thinking the 3" big bore exhaust could be a sweet marriage here. And I agree, the exposed look is not for me either

I'm not exactly sure of the weight, but it is easily half the weight of the stock grill.

I'll try to get some better pics in the daylight. The ones I took in the garage tonight didn't turn out too great. By the very nature of a grill that is semi-opaque, it is hard to photograph.

Jeez, this is not making my exhaust decision any easier. Any more pictures from other angles?

Here's some pictures of my 2Bular 6" single tip exhaust from Blackwatch, and Chotto's Challenger Grill. The exhaust note is sweet. Weight savings over the stock exhaust (I had Quicksilver on prior) and the rear panel is almost 15 lbs. Installation time was about 6 hours, but would be less if you have a stock diffuser vs. carbon fiber. With the extended CF lip, I had to modify with a small cutout. I elected to keep the rear of the heat shield in tact, and cutout only about a 6" section for the exhaust exit point. I painted the back of the shield with high-temp primer and black paint so it wouldn't stand out behind the grill. The Challenger is a quality piece, and chotto was quick with delivery and some good suggestions. Sorry for the poor photos...I'll try to take some more during the day and append to the post.

Got mine installed and I'm thrilled with it. There were some dicy moments as I could have used a second pair of hands to align the top 3 screws but I managed and it only took me a couple of hours. It's much lighter than stock and extremely well finished. I cut the back part of my heat shield so the stainless StageII can be seen and cooled better. Thanks for making these available!
