I have an Aspen white Exige with BOE quarter stick exhaust that exits above the diffuser. I've noticed that the area on my rear clam that is close to the exhaust is getting yellowed and stained from the exhaust. What is the best way to get rid of these stains? Any products out there that will do this? I'm very anal about keeping my cars clean and this is driving me nuts.
I have been running a naked rear with the Larini CS 6" for a few years. I have a graphite grey car but I get this same yellowish film on my rear clam as well after a while.
The magic solution......elbow grease, car wash soap and a microfiber cloth. Seems to take it off every time and mine gets a good amount as it likes to shoot blue flames.
My car is orange so I don't really notice any yellowing but I get a bunch of "exhaust related residue" on the clam. Seems very difficult to get off with just soap and water. Clay bar works for me.
So this is what what exhaust stains look like. I tried Goof Off and was very easy to remove. Cleaned it right away and waxed the area. The clean spot was where I wiped it with Goof Off.
