Exige Roll Cage................
Pondering the thought of TT/Wheel to wheel racing.
Have done a bit a research online but somebody may know better. Need a roll cage for an 07 Exige, with the top on, that can be installed DIY fairly easy. I can weld anything needed but still like to keep it simple, installed the cage in my 72 Baja Bug so sort of know the ass pain I'm going to endure. Have a medium set of mechanical skills and if I don't have the tool I can buy it. Auto cross as much as possible and drive the car to work 1 day a week to offset the 72 Bug comments but still need it semi functional. Any suggestions on fabricators, manufacturers, etc.... will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Sector 111 sells one. A friend of mine has it in his car and it looks nice and provides good protection. No high side rails though, which shouldn't be a major problem as you sit below the aluminum tube anyway. They ship it in pieces and you weld it in place.

Yeah.... I really want one of those!
![]() Maybe I'm overly fussy but OEM or bust. Custom is really the only other option from what my research has gleaned. I'm not sold on the few that are offered. They've still got to look nice as well IMO. With an OEM or custom, you can get those bends nice and tight down the sills and structures of the car, just something that isn't so with most others on offer. |

Regarding the OEM roll cage, you had it installed after you bought the car? Mind sharing the cost of the cage and the install price?

Mine is a 2009 Exige Cup 260 - ordered to be M/Sport only (not for public roads) from the factory. The 12th character of the VIN is "H"...one of 12 built globally! What made it a track car only over a “normal” Cup 260, is that mine didn’t get any sound insulation, no carpeting, no interior firewall panels, came with a ProAlloy radiator, roll cage and CF seats. All twelve ordered came with a solar windshield. So the short answer is I don’t know how much the roll cage cost to install…or price…sorry.

Thanks. Found out it costs $4513.73 plus shipping from UK PLUS install. Cheaper to have custom one made.

Here are some pics of our newest Elise/Exige roll cage. Notice the front foot mounting points. They are through bolted to the extrusion in tension shear and compression. The location takes into account all 3 force angles that this connection point may see. It also allows for the front leg tubes to terminate behind the plastic trim panels. This allows much more leg room. This is both good for comfort and for safety. We don't run a door bar as the stock aluminum extrusion in the door is adequate as long as it is tied into the main hoop properly. This also aids in ease of entry as well as emergency exit. If you have ever gotten into an Exige with door bars you know what I mean!
These are just a few of the features we have designed into the cage to make the best out of the small cabin space of our cars. This cage is our first of this design and a reproduction fixture is being built in the next several weeks. We plan on selling this cage as mostly bolt in. The windshield frame needs to be trimmed a bit and a few holes need to be drilled. The cage will come on a palette in 2 pieces and will need to be welded together once installed into the car. If you have any questions, please post them here or email Stephan@VSAMotorsports.com

This particular car will use a single layer fiberglass roof. This roof will easily attach to the cage using dzus buttons. The original roof could also be used, but It would need mounts fabricated and would also need to be trimmed, not too big a deal. The same goes for the factory cage and sectors cage.
