Actually, it depends on the plate. Some vanity plates only take up to 6 characters, some up to 7.
Since the Elise has been rather elusive, I sort of like ELISIV or ELISIVE. But most people probably wouldn't get it.
If you get a kiddie plate, you can use a heart or star symbol. I was toying with LOTUS "love"R or ELISE "love"R. Or LOTUS "star" or ELISE "star". But some of these may not be available. And the heart ones may be too cute.
So far, I plan to get a CA Arts plate (with sun and palm trees), which only allows up to 6 characters and use a non-Lotus message.
And ONLY if you use it exclusively for racing - there's gonna be enough idiots out there as it is who will see an Elise and use it as an excuse to act stupid on public streets...
As it is, I'm thinking we'll already need a nice big day-glow posterboard sign that says: "Racing belongs at the track"
Haven't seen these mentioned:
DWN HERE
LOOK OUT
BIG GRIN
AAAAAAH
38 MPG (or whatever it works out to)
NO ROVER
TOY CAR (heh)
Those refering to low wt might make people think you're a dietician. However, this one has the highest risk of being mistaken for anatomicall part, now if you were a GI specialist, that'd be a whole different story
What would you say if you saw this car on the road?
Would it make you mad or would it make you smile?
I'm thinking of doing this on a new RED Honda S2000.
Remove front and rear "H" badges and the side S2000 lettering....and replace with rectangular Ferrari logo on front hood and silver prancing horse on rear. Then add Ferrari crest stickers on the fenders and circular Ferrari stickers on the wheels to cover the H.
And, of course, the license plate would be:
FERONDA ... or ... 224 GTS
When I was in high school. I had a red VW Rabbit Diesel re-badged as a Ferrari....but that was clearly not a sportscar. It was a total hoot -- and I even got a parking ticket with "FERRARI" listed under "MAKE OF CAR".
PEEL <-- orange peel, peel out?
JUICE
JUICY
ORANGY <-- orangy .. or..gy?
RIPE
BITTERS < --- might be confused with the past car manufacturer
PEKOE
FEDEX <---- coporate color? / Federal Elise
for those who can get 8 letters.
KIMAGURE (as in the anime orange road)
SMOOTHIE
