It would be interesting to mind f*** with someone and put a plate on our cars that said "66 Rambler" or "42 Willys," etc. Maybe have it just slightly off such as "MG GT," then play dumb. "No, that's what the guy told me it was when I bought it." Then argue, "I don't think so. I ought to know what kind of car I have." "Yeah, it is a Lotus - an MG Lotus." "No, it is an MG and Lotus is the model."

It's a toss up on that... but I think the edge has to be given to the guy who spends the money to not just say what the car is but to put the emphasis that it's his with the "MY XXX" plate.

No ****, Sherlock, if you didn't put the plate on there, I would have thought it was mine or that other guy across the street that's getting into the Yugo.

I used OVRTIME on mine....since that's how it was purchased it seemed appropriate! I live in Montana so having a Lotus here is pretty rare and people here think it is like a $100 grand car! LOL! Cracks me up!

Never know, it might be a sleeper with a transplant engine. I mean, a front wheel drive car with a big rear spoiler to add downforce on the back wheel has to mean serious power, right?

that's an old plate, must have transferred it from the OG car. Maybe had a countach back in the day...now has a maxima. LOL

OK, I've read through a lot of this thread and know I'm going to get blasted because my new plate is:

- not original
- unimaginative
- repeating what the car is within inches of the factory applied sticker

To which I'll reply in advance:

- it's what I wanted
- so what
- because so many people ask me what the car is, the factory sticker must not be working
