Question How do you like your Magnetic Blue?

I just noticed only 4% chose Magnetic Blue. Those of you with Magnetic Blue out there...how happy are you with your choice? Would you have chosen differently if you could do it all over again?

Just curious...I ordered it without being able to see it in person...and pictures vary...some look awesome and while some look bland. Getting a little nervous as delivery day approaches...hope to be 'blown away' by it!

How many got hard top with your Mag Blue?

Dave

I'm still happy with my choice. At the dealership last week, there was a MagBlue w/ HT and Blue Interior. It looked GREAT. I wasn't at all sure that the blue on blue thing would work, but it did. Sitting next to a Silver, Green and Red, I still liked the blue best (although AR w/ HT is a sexy look). MB attracts attention w/o screaming "lookie o'er here" the way AR and SY do.

I wouldn't worry, Dave - you made a great color choice (although I'm biased).

I think the hardtop gives the car the look of two cars (fixed-head coupe as well as a targa). Well worth the money if you choose this option when ordering. If you're planning on getting one later, that's another story...

Here's a pic:

I am very happy with my choice: MB with hardtop, touring, ss. The look is exotic without being too out there. I was originally going with ST, but decided that there were enough silver sports cars out there. My only reservations are that MB will be a little harder to clean than ST and there are a number of other makers who have chosen a similar duller color blue, diminishing some of the uniqueness of the car. This is most appartent during cloudy conidtions. During daylight hours the color seems to shine more and has a more unique feel.

Quite happy I changed from Storm Titanium right after I placed my order. The contrast of the black trim w/MB I think is more striking. Just painted my center console & HVAC surround Mag Blue as well...will post pix probably next week. Here's a pic of my MB at the recent Club111 get together... http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/show...&postcount=102

I am very happy that there are not many Mag Blue. I like the Nightfall as well but the wife says it is better that we don't have 2 dark blue cars.

Dave, I think you made a great choice. I too am waiting to take delivery of a Magnetic Blue car (Touring, Blue Interior, Hardtop). Unlike you, I purchased my car off the showroom floor (Lotus Motorsports in Boston) but have been patiently waiting through the endless New England winter to actually take delivery of it. FINALLY, the weather seems to be clearing up and I expect to pick it next weekend. I have seen the car in person a number of times, as well as a number of other Elise colors) and I love the color. There was also a similarly equipped RG car available at the time. The availability of the car then (at MSRP, no waiting) certainly influenced my decision but I'm convinced I would have purchased a MB car, had I pre-ordered it.

the odd thing about MB is that in person(in sunlight anyway), it has some purple in it...I have never seen any pics that capture that...is it just me or do others see that also.?

I love the MB. The purple that mact3333 mentions is actually more prevalent in shade, not sunlight. That's the only thing I don't love about the color, but even that can be interesting and is not altogether a bad thing. It's noticeable when there's bright ambient light, but very little direct light on the car (I don't know how to better describe it).

The car looks absolutely stunning with the hardtop on, sitting in the sunlight.

Here's a picture that sort of shows the purple. I don't usually notice the purple when it's bright like this.

Talking

Just got back from 'work' and finally got to see your responses...thank you all for kindly thwarting my nerves. The pics you posted are the best collection I've seen of Mag Blue yet!!!

Our Elise will be: Magnetic Blue, Hard Top, Touring w/black and Star Shield.

Definitely can't wait to lay eyes and hands on now...

Dave

I have Mag Blue. Very pleased even though it wasn't my first choice (took an early car from the dealer).

Photo taken on an overcast day.

My mom called it purple when I was home for Easter. I have no regrets, I like the color a lot.

I love my MB car. There is something about the color that really makes the lines and curves of the car stand out. When my car was sitting next to a CO, ST, Silver, and AR car at the dealer, the lines on my car stood out dramatically. CO is DEFINITELY the brightest color though. I went with biscuit interior because of its contrast with the blue. The colors work really well together.

Oh yeah, and the whole purple thing... It takes some really special light to make the car look purple. My car had a purple hint on a really pink sunset one day, but thats about it.

I really like it especially in the sun. Here are some pics under a few different types of light. I am color blind so I can't tell when it looks purple.
