I am officially an Elise owner. Finally.
First off, I'm amazed by this car. The myth's and unfounded rhetoric pertaining to this car have been dismissed with permanent prejudice.
Some of you know that I'm a recent Corvette transfer. Regarding this, after experiencing this car for some four days, I could never go back to a Corvette. It's that good. The experience is crystal clear now. Does it ride like a Luxury Sadan???? I dont know about the rest of you, but, if it did I wouldn't want it. It's supposed to be a sportscar, a true bred sportscar, and that's what it is. But honestly, I drove this car 1400 miles bringing it home and it wasn't bad at all. I'll tell you about that later. I went through 32 hours of hell with dope dealers, bums, gay people, hookers and your basic underprivilged opportunistic welfare dwelling non-working garbage and anything inbetween, that the United States has to offer, to get this car. It was worth every minute, not only because I survived and I'm still drug free and std free, but rather because it is the purist form of sportscar I have ever driven and the only car to make me feel like I was in a Formula 1 race car AND because I worked for it in more than one way. I've saved, worked, became miserly, cut corners, and sold a car just to have the particular Lotus I wanted. I ate , slept and dreamed about this car and it's MORE than what I expected. It's faster than what I expected after hearing from the muscle car guys. I test drove it at 3500 feet above sea level, and then took it down TO SEA LEVEL and it felt like a different animal, COMPLETELY. I truly feel that from 0-70 and probably more it would be out in front of my Corvette (that I used to have). The air conditioning seems to be underrated as I find that it does indeed do its intent, even in 92 degree and higher temps. If you want an air conditioning that blows like the one in your Ford truck or your family sadan, then that's what you should have purchased. Aside from the above, after heaing the horror stories, I found the AC to be more than adequate and much more than what I expected. It rides rough and it beats you up??????????? You see this all the time. No it doesn't and yes it could easily be used as a daily driver to and from work, and a few groceries to go along with it. How old are you people who post this ish? Does it ride harder than a Lincoln?????????? Of course it does, "why did you expect differently? It's a sportscar.........not a family sadan. But here's the good news," you can always buy a Lincoln. A Lotus is not the car for you. This car is an adrenaline rush, it's not fit to provide you with the utmost in Luxury and if you drink tea with your pinky finger raised and have someone put your slippers on for you, well for one you're lazy and two, I would'nt want to go on a camping trip with you and listen to you complain about how a mosquito bit you. They don't leave scars. The Lotus is not fast. What?????????? Ok there has been discussion on this, I know. There is a distinct difference between "quick" , and "fast", gentlemen. How much money do you want to spend? This misleading dribble about a Lotus Elise being a slow car is mythical folks. I rank the myth right up there with Unicorns, pots of gold at the end of rainbows and Bigfoot. Well I have problems getting in and out of it..............ITS TOO HARD!!!! I CAN'T DO IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And oh my God, my wife hates it because it's just to hard too get in and out of!!!! That would make you a dumbass-ss for ever buying it. Please don't be offended. But I speak the truth. IT IS hard to get in and out of, make no mistakes about it. It's a sportscar, a true sportscar.........and if your're FAT or overweight, or you exceed 250 pounds 5"7 and most of that weight is in your ass-s, don't buy one. Because I can tell you now, it's designed to fit a driver who understands and not the Cookie Monster, Martha Stewart, or Fred Flintstone. I also think it would be an unwritten sin to see Rosy O'donnel stuff herself in one. The Lotus Elise/Exige is the perfect car for the few who understand its purpose. I am totally "floored" by the Lotus, its handling, it's acceleration and its looks. Don't even get me started on its looks. The car was photographed at least 6 times before I returned home. Speaks volumes. My Vette....invisable. In only 4 days, I've started to become annoyed by spectators who can't stay away from the car and have to touch it. I've grown tired of people with kids who do not care what their kids do and do not correct their kids. They just let them get within inches of the car and kids will be kids. They want to touch it, sit on it and everything else you can name that kids do. The parents just sit there watching like anything little Johnny wants to do is ok with me. Today I had to say something about it. I didn't want to and had hoped the parents would speak up........but these people were the mutant form of the Beverly Hillbillies and didn't have a clue. I guess I sound obsessed with the car, but I'm really not........I just really like this car ,,,,,alot,,,,but I'm to the point now that I feel that people who can't afford to buy one or pay for damages due to their carlessness should just stay away from it. From now on it's " Look but don't touch" and NO you're not climbing in it just to see if you can fit. If I've offended anyone, please do accept my apologies, but this is my take thus far on the Lotus Elise. It is one hell of an awesome car. P.S. I purchased AzSkyCops Ardent red Elise. I cannot begin to tell you how nice he and his family are. It was a good experience and I wish he and his family well in all that they do. |

Comment on it again in about 6 months when you get used to it and know how to drive it...
![]() And don't let people touch it.
