The article I read had a modified 280 HP Elise finished in last place in almost every category and last in the overall comparison. The Elise had worn tires and only had 6 days to prepare for the Challenge. I didn't read the entire story but I felt sad how poor the Elise performed

from what I did read.

Well I gotta say its all about the driver as I recently discovered being blocked for 4 laps of BW by the s/c monkeymobile.

Worn tires is a silly excuse.

I was at Buttonwillow as a driver in the Sport Compact Car challenge a few years ago (I was in an MR2) and Joe was there with an S1 Honda powered Elise. And it had some engine trouble so did not do well. That seems like a better excuse than to show up with bad tires.

And he has some nice publicity in the mag also. Note how the front cover shows Eric's company logo right in the middle too.
