...i've started a weekend project to add a lotus cars timeline to all the relevant wikipedia entries, but i don't have any really good sources of information on late-model type numbers...
...might someone with more expertise than i know the official type numbers for the evora, europa, and most recent elise/exige variants?..

AFAIK the list for most 'Modern' road going type numbers is:
111 - S1 Elise 116 - VX220/Opel Speedster 117 - S2 Elise, Rover K16 based engine 120 - S2 Elise, Toyota engines (1ZZ and 2ZZ) 121 - S2 Elise, Toyota engine, Federal 122 - Exige S2 123 - Exige S2 (Federal) 124 - Europa 127 - 2-11 128 - Exige Supercharged 129 - Exige Supercharged (Federal) 131 - Elise S (1ZZ) 132 - Evora Bye, Arno.

FYI, if you are tracking special edition cars as well...
25 Jim Clark edition Elise (Type 25) were built in 2008. They were british racing green, with a yellow stripe, black and silver wheels and black and red leather seats. (Very similar to the Type 25 race car appearance. Only for the UK market.
