I think that would be "le neck rouge"-since it's a French driver.

Heh.. since you mentioned it, it would be "le cou rouge", or more correctly, "le prolétaire", or in la langue des banlieues, "un pedzouille" or "un cul-terreux". Good thing I'm not in polite company, or I wouldn' have typed that last one.

thanks. pretty funny how you slowed down a bit before entering a tunnel and then floored it. Must have been timing the cams.

Run in the UK, Video Footage / S1 / S2 / 111R's

It'll take a couple of days before the Google ones become available, but here's the first few cuts of the DSB Run from the 15th Jan.

Lo Res
http://www.sport140.com/video/DSBRun.wmv (18 Mb)

Hi_Res ( well, higher res, I hate using WMV )
http://www.sport140.com/video/DSBRun_hi.wmv (37 Mb)

Streaming version will available for Flash 8 from Monday...
Google Streaming version probably by Wednesday

The quality across the net is always poor : for a High Definition Version, its on DVD. If anyone wants a copy, I'll bring some with me to Buckles **IF** you let me know in advance.

Note: before people ask,

The real bummer is that I lost a third of the actual footage on the day due to a faulty head on the camcorder.

Normally when I go off filming on the cannonball etc, I have a lot more gear, but for this run, which was more about the driving I only took one camera. The specs anyway :
  • Cheap Sony Handycam with Wide Angle lens
  • Hague Suction Mount (available for hire for a very cheap rate)
  • 3 tapes used on the day, although I had 1 spoiled due to a dirty head)
  • Adobe Premiere Pro (1.5 , and the upgrade to 2 during the process)
  • Any graphics package to edit photos for the titles
  • Macromedia Flash to create the animated menus / moving maps
  • A **** load of skill and experience

Its all about storyboarding BEFORE and ensuring you get loads of camera angles to compose everything together afterwards.

Normally I like to have at least 2 cameras rolling, as it allows to capture single events from multi angles giving you the ability to edit more freely.

Frankly, not my best work, but glad with the limited footage available I managed to scrape something together eventually.

ENJOY

Very enjoyable, Dave! I will never again complain when I get caught in the rain with my top off. I'll also never again complain about narrow roads! Great scenery.

Nice but

Your passenger did put their head in the way quite a bit. And getting passed by that Miata and then the Corvette, come on... Why are you being so easy on it?

Some video from the RacerFactory event this weekend. Not super-exciting, but it's fun to share anyway.

Good looking car CHRISN, I love how many variations that look good with this Elise.
Was that a Exige in front of you leaving those black marks and almost loosing it?

It's a Noble M400, the Exige doesn't have a spoiler quite as large as the Noble's.

Plus it says so in the vid description

It has come to my attention that a number of people can't view the video I posted from the above link. For some people it just downloads as a text file for some reason. If you have trouble, try viewing it from this link:

(scroll to the very bottom)

Hope that helps!
