Back to Silver Star Lotus for some warranty work, including the chronic P0420 code problem.

Lotus sent over some 'special parts', including special fuel pressure sensor and a new program for the ECU.

Also I got a new oil pan due to leaks, and fromt tie-rod-end.


All the services since new

Dear Lotus: Please tell me you're kidding.

Not only the car began to overheat, the day I picked it up from the serivce (and another 'problem' the dealer need to take care of), MIL/CEL P0506 came back on again.

I drove out to Las Vegas and back. Surprisingly, after hours and hours of driving, I've realized I feel less tired than driving out to Vegas in a large SUV. The car felt great, and I really enjoyed the drive.

I got to stop by at the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch and meet Kelley and Jim. Jim gave me a ride in his Cup car, and I thought I was going to soil myself.... I did check out some 255 Cup cars at SwitchCars, and we'll see what I end up doing...

The drive through Hwy-160 was amazing.





Only problems I had with the car are the P0506 code and the minor overheating problem. I did get to meet CharlieX, and hopefully he will be able to find the root of the problem.

So when I was thinking I can't have any more problems with the car.... my interior fan failed... during the hottest week in Southern California. Plus the car continues to run really hot.

Stephen at Mulholland Motorsports kindly spent some meaningful amount of time, and has some ideas what could be wrong. The car will be there soon.
