Well that solves the question of all the powder blue body pieces we saw at Hethel about 3 weeks ago... very mixed reactions on the color...some thought it a 'Mary Kay' type color others liked it...

$80k's going to be pretty hard to swallow for an "appearance package"...

Note they said "equivalent". This indicates right off the bat that the cars pricing was not given for the US market and thus plans for it's introduction here were not announced. Further, we pay less for our Lotus then anyone else in the world. If, and I do mean If because I doubt it's coming here, If it reaches the US, it will be priced less than the Euro/UK version.

do a search but it's leather that has been imprinted with a carbon fiber pattern. It's really nice.

It will be pretty easy to spot who was dumb enough to pay extra $$ for the "Club Ricer" "Visually Distinctive" version.

Two thumbs down.....

There are patches of it on the Exige leather seats.

Agreed. With the weak dollar it is common for European auto makers to sell cars in the US at a considerable discount, compared to their native markets.

why is it any dumber to pay extra for an appearance package than for lifestyle or metallic paint - or for painted wheels ?

I actually like the look - depending on how much of a premium there was over the standard exige S...

Rob - keep me informed

Its just plain and simple Lotus needs to make more money and its economical to make of one offs with a premium with reasonable hopes that 50 people will buy them. ( like the 72d)

I like the color. Not sure I'd pick it over some of the other awesome colors they offer but I don't think it's hideous. I've really liked the polar blue cars I've seen, as well as laser blue, and.........

i mean really, how difficult is it to recruit, hire and retain a decent designer and assitant? Lotus could and should be doing a bit better - they got all the elements to churn out great "custom / limited edition" and even factory options - yet they can never seem to hit the nail on the head? at least they are not as bad as volvo's efforts! ...eeek!
